Hi Guys , I have a Searay 200 Sundeck and use it a lot for wakeboarding . I'm thinking of getting the 'Perfect Pass' system fitted - just want to see if anyone else has installed it and how effective it is at maintaining a steady boat speed . I was told to double check as a friend suggested it may not be as effective on an I/O drive as a pure inboard . We trim the engine up a bit aswell to get a better wake which also makes it a bit more tricky to keep the speed steady . Would a 4/5 blade prop make things much easier ? <BR> <BR>Thanks all

The 4 or 5 blade prop helps because you have better control over prop slip so the speed will be more consistent whether you have PP or not. Going with a lower pitch also lets you control the slip and speed better. (And gets you out of the hole better). <BR>Perfect Pass makes it easier to drive although an exceptional driver can do it better by feel and anticipation. I think most I/O owners with PP wouldn't give it up.

Agreed with Art...drop down the pitch of the prop if its a 21 to a 19 and you will get better control...Im currently running a 21 but am changing to a 19...If you could switch to a 4/5 blade prop go for it, but just remember your top end is affected. I have a 2008 Tahoe Q6 and its carbed and I just got perfect pass put on and it is night and day difference. I would never trade it for anything. A good driver will be able to get good control of the throttle but when we tested the drivers good timing to a gps handheld unit, it actually varied within 2 mph while the RPM didn't show different....We got perfect pass stargazer and it literally keeps it within +-.20 of a mile. I board at about 23.7 and it will stay between 23.5 and 23.9. In butter it will stay at 23.7 and its all GPS based. We trim to 1/2 up and it does great. Perfect pass mentioned integrating a trim function that adjusts that as well per rider.

High five prop from Mercruiser. Makes all the difference in the world. Perfect pass works great on a I/O

Thats great info , thanks very much , just what I hoped to hear . I would be interested to know if there is going to be a trim function added . Anyone know/heard anything about that .
