First post need advice, size & boards
 

Hey everyone,
Just to introduce myself im teebs, I've been riding for awhile like 8 years, but never seriously only like 5-10 times a summer. Im 6'1 about 170 have a axis 135 with some OT LF bindings Ive had for a long time. I went to a new cable park for the first time a couple weeks ago and am kinda getting hooked into boarding more but I still do most of my riding behind a boat.

Question is I think I want a new board.. woodcore boards seem like they would be fun, I can get a good deal on a 137 slingshot response but is that too small still? Please recommend a board for me.. Im nothing special a few inverts, simple simple spins, and I could dabble on a rail but basic board slides for now maybe a few presses next summer. Im trying to save money too

Board size gets very personal as far as preference goes. Everyone has their own idea as what is a good size for them. I'm about your size and ride a 147 vibe by CWB. I love a huge board= bigger pop, faster, and lands softer. I have a friend about the same size and he loves his 135 LF. Personally I think you should be on something in the 140 range but if at all possible try a few boards, even if they aren't the brand or model you want you can get an idea on how size will change your ride

Can two boards the same length be meant for different weights? The other board im looking at is a 137 LF BOB yet the sizing chart for that boards looks like it would be fine for my weight?

When it comes to surface area and the weight a board can support, length is only one part of the equation. You should also consider width and the boards profile. Profile is essentially the outline and the transition from mid-width to tip-width. A board that has a wide mid point and carries its width through the tips will have more surface area and could support a bigger person.
