Ripping copyrighted DVDs

I need someone to point me in the direction of an easy to use simple software program that will let me rip copyrighted DVDs to store as video files on my PC for personal use.

I'm not wanting to pirate or upload these movies for the masses or anything. I just want to be able to load some movies that I already own onto my netbook so I can have something to watch when I travel.

My wife has 100 + DVDs, most of which I have never seen, so it will be a lot cheaper to make these movies portable as opposed to renting new ones. If someone can recommend an inexpensive easy to use program for PC I would appreciate it.
