Heres a list of tricks that I can do. <BR> <BR>bs 360 heli and handle pass <BR>bs 540 handle pass <BR>bs tantrum <BR>bs front roll <BR>bs front flip <BR>bs front flip mobius <BR>bs raley <BR> <BR>ts scarecrow <BR>ts frontroll <BR> <BR>is that good enuf for a sponsor?

02-17-2001 11:24 PM

No because there is no such thing as a <BR>bs frontroll.

02-17-2001 11:44 PM

Hey Dork. Yeah, actually there is such thing as a bs frontroll. But if that's actually your trick list, I can't beleive that you can do a front flip mobe before even a roll to revert or ts backroll or stuff like that. If you can, more power to you but that's kinda weird.

Hey dude, if you are a chick, yeah, go get some sponsors. If you are a guy, its a bit harder. Sponsorship is really about being known, having good people skills. Using an unknown name with no email address is not getting yourself out there and known. You want to impress people, learn a grab on everyone of those tricks, learn some stuff switch, and a few more ts tricks. Then come back with a name and profile. <BR>Later <BR>Tiffanator <BR>LadyBoarder <A HREF="http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html" TARGET="_top">http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html</A> <BR>AIM Suprachickchick <BR><A HREF="mailto:TheLandroid@yahoo.com">TheLandroid@ya hoo.com</A>

You can actually get sponsored with those tricks if you did like Tiff says along with going to local tourneys, events, and talking to your local shop.Have a friend tape a great session and along with that people with great attitudes get the easiest rode to sponsorship. Its not all about what tricks you can do ,its also about you, what you can offer the shop or company in selling and promoting their products along with being able to know a lot about the products to give input on the way it rides and feels etc. <BR> <BR>To answer your question,No you are not even close to being a Pro yet because most of them arent doing those tricks anymore, they are doing whirly5s,everything to blind, grabbed mobe 5s,petes,7s,9s,double flips etc but you could get sponsored though if you approach it the right way. <BR> <BR>Good luck <BR> <BR>Later <BR>Bill <BR>NWA <BR>BA Wakeboards <BR><A HREF="http://www.boardsource.net" TARGET="_top">http://www.boardsource.net</A>

Tiff and Bill have given you good advice. What most people fail to realize is that companies do not sponsor because you are a great rider. They sponsor you because they feel you can increase their market position, sales, image or other such matter. You can be the best rider ever and if you have a horrible attitude you will get sponsors but have trouble keeping them. You can be the worst rider and get sponsors that will stay with you for your career. Be honest in your endeavors, keep a good attitude, on and off the circuit. Work on your people skills just as hard as you work on your riding skills. I have had this discussion many times throughout my career and have been on both sides of the sponsorship table. Realize that sponsorships are a business relationship and ask yourself what quality you have that companies will need. Otherwise you will be one of those riders that can get a discount board, or some free gear, but will never reach the level that I would consider a true sponsorship.

Okey dokey please explain a bs front-roll!

02-18-2001 9:41 PM

a backside front roll is what darin shapiro does when he does the speed ball. There is a difference between a backside front roll and a backside front flip. On the front flip you come to the wake and put a lot of weight on your back foot and try to bring the nose up while coming off the wake and then you duck your left shoulder. On the front flip, you hit the wake, square your shoulders to the way you're flipping and duck your head down. Watch Darin's speedball and then watch a basic front flip and tell me it's the same rotation. It's not even close.

02-19-2001 6:51 AM

I beg to differ. I'm not sure of the names, but I have had many discussions with people about this trick. A hs front is a rotation opposite a hs backroll. You load up the tail of the board coming off the wake and throw your head and shoulders down. This is a tip/tail rotation. That is the only hs front there is. The rotation you may be calling a front roll is actually a mexican backroll. This rotation is more like a front flip on a trampoline, but it is NOT a hs frontroll, it is simply another way to do a backroll. The mexican backroll is used many times for blind rotations on the backroll, or some people just do their backrolls that way. If I"m wrong, will someone please correct me. Also, bs and fs refer to spins, hs and ts refer to coming into the wake, just a tidbit. <BR>Later <BR>Tiffanator <BR>LadyBoarder <A HREF="http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html" TARGET="_top">http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html</A> <BR>AIM Suprachickhick <BR><A HREF="mailto:TheLandroid@yahoo.com">TheLandroid@ya hoo.com</A>

02-19-2001 9:17 AM

nope, there's a difference between a hs backroll and frontroll. Shapiro's been doing double hs frontrolls for years. There's no way that is a backroll

02-19-2001 10:05 AM

Shapiro does front flips....end over end.

02-19-2001 10:08 AM

I think shapiro does front rolls because front flips are more like cartwheels. There's a slight variation between front rolls and front flips. When shapiro does them he goes up and ducks his head. That's not a front flip. Front flips you bring your lead knee up then duck your shoulder. I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one. But who knows, I could just be making a total a@@ out of myself

mexican style 02-19-2001 11:01 AM

I think you may be a little confused. A speedball is a double front-flip. Gerry nunn and Daniel watkins do a double backroll (mexican style). I have never heard of or seen a hs frontroll because they don't exist. <BR>Greg Johnson <BR>-mastercraft <BR>-Zeal optics <BR>-portland ski boat center <BR>-bellevue board company

Dang, well I guess maybe someone should tell dave that he's wrong too. The hs backroll is a trick. It's even on the wakeworld trick list. Here's the link if you guys are curious. <BR> <BR><A HREF="http://wakeworld.com/tourney/trickdesc.asp?TrickID=50" TARGET="_top">http://wakeworld.com/tourney/trickdesc.asp?TrickID=50</A>

02-19-2001 11:52 AM

mobius, <BR> <BR>Dave isn't wrong...hs backrolls exist...hs frontrolls don't.

02-19-2001 2:48 PM

Joe, What are you talking about? That link I posted clearly says backside front roll in bold letters. Then in the description, it says hs frontroll. Now will you concede that hs frontrolls exist?

02-19-2001 3:16 PM

Hey mobius, check out www.intleague.com and look at the trick list, nowhere on there does it say hs front roll, it has front flip and backroll, but no frontroll. I think someone was confused when putting tricks in wakeworlds trick list. However, you don't see anyone sending in tips on how to do it do you? Hey, why don't you send in your tips on it, since you are apparently the only one who knows how to do it. I have had this discussion with many people, many times, and everytime we talked, there is no front roll. Look it up, a speedball is a double front flip. <BR>Maybe we're wrong, got me. <BR>Later <BR>Tiffanator <BR>LadyBoarder <A HREF="http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html" TARGET="_top">http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html</A> <BR>AIM Suprachickchick <BR><A HREF="mailto:TheLandroid@yahoo.com">TheLandroid@ya hoo.com</A>

Who really cares?

02-19-2001 8:01 PM

I gotta agree with you Chad. I'm off this topic. To be honest with you when i started discussing it I was sure I'm right but now that I see it's not on the int trick list I admit that I could very well be wrong. Either way, doesn't matter. No hard feelings tiffanator and Joe. You're in MS right tiffanator. I'm close to there so we'll have to ride sometime. Peace, I'm outta here.

02-20-2001 10:56 AM

No hard feeling Mobius. Yes, I'm in MS, look me up if you are around here and we'll ride, its still kinda cold, but that's all good, we still ride. <BR>Later <BR>Tiffanator <BR>LadyBoarder <A HREF="http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html" TARGET="_top">http://www.hometown.aol.com/jetskierxp/index.html</A> <BR>AIM Suprachickchick <BR><A HREF="mailto:TheLandroid@yahoo.com">TheLandroid@ya hoo.com</A>
