I have a 2007 Never Summer SL 156. Bought the board on clearence last year. It has three days on it. I'm looking to swap for a 160-161. This board is just a little too short for me. Has a couple of minor scuffs / scratches on the bottom. Nothing that affects the ride. I'll post pictures later on. I'll trade for a board of equal value, or one of us can pay the difference.

We have a spare 168 prob too big for you. I am looking for a 155 range board though for Blake. Let me know the cost.

guido 12-14-2009 12:35 PM

Linda... what's up with the 168? That'd be the ultimate pow board. I'd be totally into it.

Jarrod... that board's not too small for you, but it is too small for your riding style. You'd love it in the park or on groomer days, but it's going to blow in powder. Since I know that's all you like to ride, you might as well off it. A 158-59 would be killer, set your stance back on pow days and even it up on regular days. Makes a giant difference. Maybe try a wide board.?.

How was yesterday? Sierra was probably pretty heavy snow, eh?

My bad, it's a 158.

You're absolutely right. I've ridden it one day in the park and loved it. Two days in powder and hated it. The biggest problem is that it's more of a freestyle stance (centered), so on powder days I'm riding the back leg all day, out of control. I'd be better off on an all mountain board the same size, or a 160 all mountain would be ideal.

Sierra was awesome yesterday. Waist deep in the trees. It snowed all day. If you had to hike out of anything, you were straight up screwed. We had several runs with not a track in sight.

Pictures:

Evan,
Justin thought that was the size he wanted then decided he wanted a smaller board. Let me know if you are interested in it I will give it to you. We have too much equipment in the garage. I need to find a board/bindings for Blake in the 155 range.

J-rod,
i just got a nitro black light 163 from evogear(they only have 160's left) for like 280. i havnt got to ride it yet (christmas gift) but it looks sick, you should check it out, its in the clearance section.

guido 12-15-2009 10:37 AM

Linda, I'll give you a call. A 168 is a giant, but I'd love to give it a try in the deep snow. You should check with Scott Ensminger for a board for Blake. I think he rides 155/6's I've got a 158 he could try, but I think it'll be kinda big, plus it's well used.

It's that freestyle stance that kills a board in powder. I like the options of an all mountain board. I took my 158 and moved the stance all the way back. It's a night and day difference in deep snow. A centered stance will ruin your day quick.

Glad to hear the snow was good. I'll be headed up this weekend to get a few days in. Forecast looks pretty good this week. Should get a couple more days of snow.

Dood! Rock that 168, you'll be FLOATING!!!

jarrod 12-15-2009 3:32 PM

I rode a 164 for a couple of years. In the powder it ruled. fast, smooth, way more control, and allowed to to rip all day without getting tired. I just came up on a 163 Ride Yukon, which is a super wide board. I'm going to use it in the deep pow and see what happens.

Right on... Break it out this weekend. Let's ride.

Hey Jarrod, I'd like to think you have been very busy and haven't had a chance to hold up your end of the bargain on the snowboard I sent...trying to remain positive here but it's been 2 months:confused:
