Thats just dumb, spend the money on cleaning up that river instead of spending money on ways to stop the wakes.

In the Salem Statesman Journal today there is an article on the "trouble" with wakeboarders on the stretch from Wilsonville to Newberg. Didn't we just go through all this last year? Hopefully this won't turn into more intrusive "boating legislation"!

Im one of the wakeboarders on the stretch from wilsonvile to newberg.

"so be warned. If you’re operating your boat in a developed area, near other small boats, paddlers, or swimmers and you create a wake that causes damage or injury, you could be cited."

Really Neat so next time a roller hits my boat and I take a header its gonna be their fault, or if Im standing on the swim step with my board and I scuff the boat due to "a wake" it becomes someone elses fault? This legislation is total crap

I got one of those in the mail, how about this: If you don't like boats that make wakes and loud music that comes with living on a public river, move!! Just like the person who lives on a commercial street always crying, we don't want more people, traffic and cars, move then. You chose to live on a commercial street, what do you expect?

And by the way, the yachts on the lower Willamette throw rollers WAY bigger than any wakeboard boat. They're probably not too much of a problem on the upper Willy, tho.

I just don't understand we're definitely being singled out here!! If my boat is at my dock on a public waterway and it gets scuffed up how is that anyone but the owners fault for not padding it up enough. If the boat jumps onto the dock and gets messed up k its on his dock!!! But boats are in the water!!! I never expect to come home without a new ding...

I will double check my stats tomorrow, but I believe at least 70% of the docks along the willamette from Wilsonville to Newberg have wakeboard boats tied up to them. I am sure they will be ecstatic if they are told not to throw any wakes in that area!
