Hey,

heading down in a few weekends to my family house in Port Charlotte, and was planning on heading up to OWC for a day.

question is, as for ripping up your board on a slider, is it more of a wear and tear issue? or can I mess up my board good doing it for the first time?

Id prefer to bring my board, but at the same time id rather not mess it up yet, maybe later in the season ill purchase a used deck for sliders.

I have a 136 Premier DNA, if that makes any diffrence.

OWC's rails and ramps are really nice, I have hit them all several times and haven't noticed any damage to my board, you should be fine... Besides a few scratches never hurt anybody...

You can also demo boards from performance ski and surf (the on site board shop) to use on the sliders.

there jibs are great, you should be fine unless you really slam into one edge first. Otherwise just expect the sliders to ass a little "Character" to your board.

The answer is you can screw up your board on the first time. However, it's quite possible that you won't. The Yellow Kicker (Cheese Wedge) is very steep and can crack the edges of your board on the first hit. The rails are not likely unless like Andy said you catch the edge.

I have taken some nicks in the molded fins on my Byerly, and there were some wear marks. I mostly hit the low table, the big white kicker, the old funbox, and "nessie". I managed to do more damage to myself trying to ride "nessie". Gotta remember to ride at my skill level. lol!
