Boat Carnage

So here in DFW the lakes have been extremely low most of the year which creates some dangerous places in the lakes.
My service guy is a really good glass guy and services a lot of the boats that run into problems. Here is some of the more recent customers. |

Are most of these from Lewisville? Which part of the lake? I assume some of these are from Shady Shores.
|
As far as I know they are from all over. There are certainly some from Lewisville. There are some I do not have pictures of as well I remember seeing a brand new G23 like less than 10 hours being worked on. All the running gear had be sheared off from running over a rock pile.

If you have ever smelled crushed fiberglass, it is the most sickening smell in the world.
|
Wow some of these pics make me cringe!
|
this is making me queasy...... UGH....

Thanks for the pics. It would be Interesting to see how they position the boats to do repairs like this. It must be hard to get fiberglass to lay flat when you are working upside down. Given the correct work space I can't see how any of thoes damaged boats couldn't be returned to as good as new condition. It's amazing what you can fix given the right tools and experience.
Another train of thought. They should think about making break away running gear. The strut support that the prop shaft runs threw could have saved thousands in repairs if it could break away like I have seen some rudders break away. I have seen some rudders that snapped clean off and done Zero fiberglass or structural support. it's like they could side the broken rudder out and slide a new one back in and be back in the water in a few hrs |

Ouch..painful to look at!! Amazing what 1 rock or stump can do!!
|
And on top all the water level at Lewisville being very low - they have announced that they are really going to step the defense against Zebra Mussels.
I can only imagine what this means as far wash down's before getting on the ramp and inspections by park personel |
Pictures from my nightmares!

OOOhhhh This thread is making me sick to my stomach
|
these photos are far too graphic for WakeWorld! I'm reporting you to Dave! jk. but seriously I know it's October, you're trying to scare me out of the lake water

That makes sence; the boat spinner. It would be very Intresting to see how they rotate the boats how it attaches to the boat ect. That would be a cool pic if you have any of repairs in process that would be pretty cool. Thanks again

Wow that's pretty freaking cool how stripped down are the boats when they and up on their side. In the pictures
|
yikes. i'm amazed some of those are not write-offs with the amount of work to repair and new gear costs
|
I just threw up a little in my mouth. Is that the only possible lake to put your vessel in that area?
