Just thought I would post a few pics of my experience today. I got to go out with a few guys who have pretty decent skills (relative to me that is for sure).

Water temp 59 degrees. We went early in the morning on Quail Lake Reservior near St. George Utah about 110 miles north of Las Vegas.

I put 400 pounds in each rear locker and 400 in the nose with 400 more in the walkway up front. Speed is 23 MPH and rider is on a pretty long rope, I am not sure how long, 75-80 feet, which is pretty long for a Tige wake, as that it tends to be pretty wide.

The riders were very pleased with the wake we produced and had a great time. I someone might enjoy a few of these pics.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/talltigeguy/10-24-07%20wakeboarding/PA240004.jpg

I was hoping the hyperlink would actually show the pic in the thread...Can I get that to happen on Wakeworld?

talltigeguy 10-24-2007 2:43 PM

Sorry, I did not have the time to resize them, but now I got the thread started, I will just hyperlink them for you.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/talltigeguy/10-24-07%20wakeboarding/PA240025.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/talltigeguy/10-24-07%20wakeboarding/PA240020.jpg

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff206/talltigeguy/10-24-07%20wakeboarding/PA240009.jpg

hey talltigeguy is there lots of places to ride around st. george? i got a job opportunity opening up there and was thinkin about movin there.. any help would be great

talltigeguy 10-25-2007 4:29 AM

Rodney,

There are 2 small lakes very close that are worth riding on, Quail Creek and Sand Hollow. As this area has grown, home values have increased exponentially, so every Tom, Dick and Harry has an extra 50K from his second mortgage to spend on a wakeboat. Things have gotten busy. October is always dynamite like this. In the summer, I don't even take my wakeboard if I go to one of those lakes, because there is too much traffic to wakeboard.

Mead is less than 2 hours away and Lake Powell is 2.5 hours away.

The program I use to shrink the pics is somewhat clunky and slow, what are you using?

surf22 10-25-2007 6:48 AM

glad to hear this...my parents just bought a place in st. george and so i wondered if there were any good lakes around the area.

downfortheride 10-25-2007 10:09 AM

Talltige ~~ I used just the paint program that is here at work. It has a skew something on it and it takes seconds to size your pictures.

Talltigeguy:
What is the temp of Sand hollow right know? I am heading down there this weekend for a softball tournament and we are going to tow the new 08 LSV down to ride.

talltigeguy 10-25-2007 12:23 PM

Quail and Sand Hollow are pretty much the same. It was 59 degrees on Wednesday. Sand Hollow may be slightly higher, and it has warmed a little the last 2 days.

Jam,
The boat in your profile looks very nice!

(Message edited by talltigeguy on October 25, 2007)

Talltigeguy-
Nice pics. I have looked at GoogleEarth images around St. George and wondered what Sand Hollow, Quail, and Gunlock were like in person. We live about an hour away in Logandale, NV, so we usually just hit Mead. I love this time of year, since the lake is empty. The water at Mead was 79 last week, and the water was glass. We're taking the kids beach camping at Mead tomorrow and Saturday; I'll have to get some pics like you did.

azwakekid 10-26-2007 3:16 PM

logandale sounds familiar. sam by any chance do you know the houstons that live in logandale?

atropine 10-28-2007 11:40 AM

Rodney-
I don't know the Houston's, but we have only been here a little over a year so we don't know a lot of people yet.

Lake temp was down to 72 this weekend, but it was empty and GLASS....
