Austin, TX
I'm heading to Austin, TX in a couple of weeks for a 5-day weekend. It's a just for the heck of it get-away. Never been there.
Any of you Texas peeps have local suggestions on places to eat, things to do, some local favorites? Especially interested in stuff/places that wouldn't be in the hotel coffee table tourist mag (or perhaps they would be but are doubly worth it). Thanks in advance. Andy |
P.S. The wife & I.

I'm a Canadian who just got back from 8 days in Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio. Do yourself a favor while in Austin and check out Rainey Street. On either side of the street are houses that have been turned into pubs/restaurants. Atmosphere was fantastic.

Where are you guys staying? Will you have rental car? How far are you willing to go? Lots of choices all around and Austin sprawls pretty big now.
