Go Pro HD Impressive!!

I know most of us check Alliance everyday and have already seen this.... but If you weren't impressed with Go Pro footage you've seen already... this should do the trick. The lack of shake considering the circumstances is amazing

Cool perspective

That is sick. You can actually attach those cameras to your board. I have seen a lot of surf footage shot with the camera mounted on the board. It would be cool to see someone attach that to the front of their board and get the riders perpective on tricks. You could also spin it so that it captured the rider during the tricks.

Thats a sick video. I like the two camera idea, never really thought of it (not that I have the money or the filming skills to ever put it to use). And was Henshaw riding an FLX for wake? Or was that an S4? I couldnt tell because it was so stickered up and the stupid Alliance video player shades the screen when its paused (and puts that dumb mute symbol in the middle of the screen when you try to watch them with no sound).

Henshaw was riding an S4 behind the boat.

I was thinking about getting a sony handycam HD but wtf, this thing looks like it does everything and its waterproof. Sold

Henshaw is riding the S4 in that video. I rode with a kid in Orlando a couple weeks ago though that killed it on the wake with the FLX. He did say that he liked the Lyman better for wake though. On a side not keep your eyes out for a kid named David Ocaoimh, he's an Irish kid that is sure to be blowing up soon. Super talented on a wakeboard and a great kid off the water.

Wait does this camera float if it comes off the suction cup??

shawndoggy 04-08-2010 4:43 PM

no, it won't float. It'd be a good idea to put one of those foam keychain floats on it.

I've got the 5mp wide and an HD, but haven't had much chance to use the HD yet. The wide is super versatile, but I wouldn't say it's a replacement for a true video cam. The reason being that there's no zoom and it's a fisheye lens, so it's really best for capturing what's happening right in front of the camera (say 10' ish). If you are 30' away, it looks like you are a mile.

Doesnt float. I picked one up. Only used it mountain biking. The way it takes pics every few seconds is pretty sweet too. Ill be testin out the video when i get out on the water. It comes with a bunch of mounts that actually stick to the surface.

O ya that video is way sick

I would not use a sticky mount without tethering the camera to something. That sticky tape holds great... till it doesn't.

An example of that at the end of this vid of mine (video is with the wide, but mounts are same between wide and HD):
