What trick is this?

What Dean Smith does at the 31 second mark here:

Is it a hs front with a bs 3? If so, I can't find a name for it:

Its a front with a frontside 3. Slim Chance/Fat chance or front mobe.

snoopy1173 12-04-2011 8:36 AM

Im pretty sure thats an s-mobe. I think a front mobe is like a front to blind but with an extra 180. So itd be a front with a backside 360.

travis_briscoe 12-04-2011 9:28 AM

English is right. Slim chance. Or since it is switch, a fat chance.

captain_vilfo 12-04-2011 10:01 AM

yeah thats a frontflip with a fs 360

Cisco 12-04-2011 10:41 AM

His arms have to go over his head before it can be called an S-Mobe. Dean didn't extent that trick into a Raley before the handlepass, so I agree...it's a Fat Chance

If a rider could do perfect Front Mobes AND perfect S-Mobes, which would be worth more at a wake park competition?

An air front is harder than a Raley on the cable IMO, but doing a legit S-Mobe seems harder than a Front Mobe.

yan_tibo 12-04-2011 10:42 AM

its an S-Mobe... groupe please do your homework ... !

Cisco 12-04-2011 12:16 PM

Tibo, I think your an amazing rider but you are wrong on this one. I knew this debate would come up sooner or later. I can't wait to post the results on my blog (see my profile).

The trick we are debating starts at 0:31

Since Smith's arms dont go over his head, he does not get into a Raley so this in not a raley variation. It is a front flip.

Here is a REAL S-Mobe

thank you cisco

its an S-mobe...

snoopy1173 12-04-2011 4:12 PM

hahaha icant do either of them, but isnt the difference between an s mobe and a front bome the direction of the spin. the front 360 makes it an s mobe and the backside 360 makes it a front mobe. Thats what i was always told. Let me know if this is right.......

snoopy1173 12-04-2011 4:15 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZPqDrGvjdQ this is what i was thinking of.....it starts at 1:30

Cisco 12-04-2011 9:11 PM

There are frontside Front Mobes and backside Front Mobes. Dean spun his frontside, and Norbi spun his backside.
