Fixed Racks + Lift

Are you able to pull your boat into your lift with fixed racks without pulling them down every time? I know this depends on your boat and lift size - just trying to get a feel for how many people are able to pull their boat in and out without having swivel racks.

I can pull mine in with racks out no problem.

what boat?

MB Widebody on a 6k ShoreStation lift. I don't have to turn them in but I do most of the time anyway.

i had this thought last year, I have swivel racks so its not a prob but if you cut the guide posts on the lift lower than the tower racks it should fix the problem. Unless you have canaopy over the lift, then you may have to remove racks each time.

I have a canopy otherwise this wouldn't be an issue.

Have you tried to pull into yours without swiveling them in? Sounds like most people can fit in - but it's tight. I've got an 03' Moomba so it's got a narrower beam. I should be Ok.

On my lift i would jsut adjust the guide polls. I have no canopy so they can be moved left and right. can yours do the same.

Yes on the racks. No on boards in the racks when putting boat on the lift.

Thanks for that piece of info. I don't mind pulling boards down off the racks as I just rent a slip and clean out my rig after a day or riding. But I don't want to have to pull my racks in and out after each time on the water.

This thread makes me feel like the odds are pretty good.
