Looking at picking up a camera...?
 

I'm by no means a photog but I have a buddy willing to sell me his Cannon Eos Rebel XT for $200 Its just the camera and lens with some cards and readers etc. Is this a pretty good deal and camera for a beginner?

Yes i know alot of people who use a rebel ... you can probably pick up a new one for 650

That price is probably about right. There is nothing wrong with that camera. My wife uses one with great success. It is good for a beginner. My wife keeps a 50mm f1.8 on it and takes stunning pictures.

IMHO... For 200.00 you can't go wrong.

Thanks guys I figured it was good based on retail and its in excellent condition. I got it and really enjoy using it and love the picture quality.

Rob, i see that lens from Canon is only $100 I'll have to pick on up as it sounds like it would be good for indoor shots i.e home interiors.
