pureblue 08-06-2004 11:05 AM

My board shorts ripped yesterday all the way up to the waistline. I went to find some knew board shorts at the mall today but could not find any with the built in underwear. I know all us guys hated it when all the trunks had them but now that none of the trunks have them I miss it. I have another pair of shorts without the underwear but I dont like them as much as the old school. Wearing boxers underneath makes you wet for the ride home. Anyways just miss the old built in stuff.

wakestar8878 08-06-2004 11:10 AM

Man, I hated those things. Come to think of it, I think I have a couple pairs my Mom bought me for my B-Day last year (never been worn). I can send them your way, if you like.

mango 08-06-2004 11:12 AM

haha!

antbug 08-06-2004 11:12 AM

hahahaha I have some old one as well. I didn't think anyone wore those any more.

512boarder 08-06-2004 11:22 AM

those things chafed like a mo when worn at the beach. bad memories.....gold bond became my friend back in those days

mango 08-06-2004 11:24 AM

maybe someone from DMC will make you a pair of underwear with out complimentary logo.

toolfan 08-06-2004 11:28 AM

i liked the netting! i have been tempted to wear the old banana sling to prevent injury. the netting dried out alot quicker than whitey tightys. Some extra support is a good thing. A little swamp-ass is alot better than a ball-breaker.

Bring back the net!

Shawn, what size? I'll take them.

noti_dad 08-06-2004 11:29 AM

You wear underwear under your boardshorts? Those mesh things in the old shorts were like wearing nothing anyway. Go with out! LOL!

antbug 08-06-2004 11:30 AM

toolfan ~ LMAO

toolfan 08-06-2004 11:40 AM

Revelation!!!!!

I may just wear my old Speedo under my cut-offs. You CAN have your cake and eat it too. I rule, again.

Luke, do like me. Ride nude back home. the kids love it.

jarrod 08-06-2004 11:51 AM

"swamp-ass"
I thought I was the only one saying that! HAHA

The netting went out with the elastic waist band. I hate those. I picked up a couple pairs from costco and couldn't stand them.

Luke, what size is you waist? I'll send you the ones I have. Think I tried them on once and threw then back in the drawer.

lucky 08-06-2004 12:21 PM

Get a speedo and where it underneath the shorts, good for support, drys fast etc. Still uncomfortable though.

reddog25cf 08-06-2004 12:26 PM

Swamp-ass.... I haven't heard that in awhile due to the fact that we just call it swass. Or if you got some really raunchy farts, we used to call it hot ass, which turned to Hass... Eh, just a random thought from the guy back here in the peanut gallery.

wakestar8878 08-06-2004 12:35 PM

I think they are like 32's or 33's. If you want them I'll hook it up.

dbogart 08-06-2004 12:41 PM

check out some lame store like macy's, jcpennys, jcrew.......the linered shorts are still out there..................

gmarkham1 08-06-2004 12:48 PM

I went to buy shorts for my nephew a couple of weeks back and that was all I could find was those damn board shorts with elastic waistbands and freaking liners... all the stores at the mall... kohl's, penneys', old navy, christ even target

pureblue 08-06-2004 1:17 PM

Dude whoever has board shorts with the netting stuff and dont want them just send em to me. I wear between a 32-34 depending on the fit. Do we have PM's on here?

cheeseinaz 08-06-2004 1:36 PM

Under Armor boxer briefs work good under board shorts...gotta protect big jimmy and the twins!

matt_h 08-06-2004 1:42 PM

I second the Under Armor

goodtimes 08-06-2004 1:44 PM

Good post. I don't like my boys being that free either. It is hard to find shorts with the netting.

steve_chavez 08-06-2004 2:52 PM

under armor is the only way to go

malibuboarder75 08-06-2004 3:11 PM

goodtimes - "its hard to find shorts with the netting"

That is so untrue...if you buy the $65 billabong, jet pilot, and fox boards shorts you do. But if you go to walmart and buy the $10 shorts like me, its really hard to find the ones without netting. The ones with netting have the best graphics but i hate that itchy net.

kryft 08-06-2004 3:14 PM

Yeah, the net sucks. I always cut them out of the shorts.

goodtimes 08-06-2004 3:32 PM

Maybe I'm looking for shorts at the wrong time of year. That could be part of the problem. When I need shorts, it's usually at the end of the year. Then everyone's sold out already.
Walmart ones are a good price but they seem to be fairly ugly colors. Probably picked over already. I'm guessing the selection isn't as good to begin with at Walmart here in Canada as in the US.

malibuboarder75 08-06-2004 4:30 PM

yea, i buy the walmart brand that are simple colors like grey with a blue stripe down the side. Some of the stuff tries to imitate the big name brands and looks like crap. They have like dragons, flames, and chinese lettering...looks like crap.

spinsir 08-06-2004 10:13 PM

buy a speedo and wear it under your boardshorts...i started doing this after the wind blew up my shorts leg and gave the whole front of the boat a nice peek at the family jewels!!!

512boarder 08-06-2004 10:45 PM

underarmour sliders/compression shorts are wut i use. work beautifully for support, and dont give u swamp ass

ramhouse 08-07-2004 8:55 AM

Try going to the discount stores...won't be name brands like Fox or so on...but net will be included..try, Pac Sun, Khols, so on..

pureblue 08-07-2004 9:03 AM

I went to Pac Sun yesterday and they said they have shipped all their suits out already. They had jeans and looked all geared for fall already. Stupid retail leads into the seasons so soon.

jman 08-08-2004 6:47 PM

Man, i hated them so much that i cut them out of a pair of shorts. Sounds a little cheap... lol...but slap a pair of boxers under and its much better now.

jonnyrotten79 08-08-2004 7:03 PM

when i wear boxers under my boardshorts it stays wet like all day and then when i sported the nets man i had mad chaffing and now i stick to name brands so now i just where regular boardshorts with my under armor and it always works for me

jman 08-08-2004 7:14 PM

Has anyone worn the Jet Pilot Crown Jewel boardshorts with the inner neoprene?

moomman 08-09-2004 10:10 AM

Try these if your looking for speedos. The training suits have more room and double layers.

http://www.swim2000.com/product.php?pd_id=704020&PHPSESSID=5a0285554c6 661ab9fea6e8ef0a3d7da

Old Navy had some board shorts with liners earlier this year. They might also be on clearance for Fall so check that section.

freakytikki 08-09-2004 1:19 PM

old navy...$4.99 got 2 pairs...They had lined one to.

jarrod 08-09-2004 1:36 PM
