hey CADE: I am originally from Waverly too, how old are you?

I now live in Madison WI if you "come our way" for good water.

Hit us up at www.midwestwakeboarder.com

redracer2003 08-27-2007 6:46 PM

dj (rivrrunr) it all depends on the wind! it seems like you can find a spot regardless (be prepared to share). I've had some very nice conditions out there before. I've been down to the river once & it was nice! It was on a Friday that some friends & myself took off work. usually stay away from the river on the weekends & let to experts have at it. What kind of ride do you have.
d powers what do you have for a ride?

lfs56 08-27-2007 7:54 PM

does anybody happen to be in need of a third?

stalzskis 08-27-2007 8:28 PM

Lake Ponderosa, just got back from the lake.Great day.

brainrinse 08-28-2007 6:31 AM

No boat yet unfortunately...

naterchip 08-28-2007 10:16 AM

Ponderosa lake, and Holiday lake. another holirosa dude!

cadesun 08-28-2007 10:57 AM

Midwestwakeboarder - I am 25... graduated in 2000. My family has a lake place near Delavan so that's where I ride most weekends. How is the water around Madison?

kriedes24 08-28-2007 1:07 PM

I don't mean to hijack by any means but I go to ISU and am very much a beginner. I was wondering if anyone was looking for a third so I could maybe tag along and learn some stuff. Thanks

codykauz 08-28-2007 3:39 PM

hey jared, who is your sister and her boyfriend?
if you ever want a pull give me a call, i have the yellow mobius xlv on the south dock at the marina

spenchey 08-28-2007 4:15 PM

ohh thats to bad kriedes24, my boat is all yellow with huge hawk stickers on it, if you didn't go to ISU i would give you some advice.

kalenk 08-28-2007 4:59 PM

If you want to drive up to cedar falls, you are more than welcome to ride with us kriedes, i dont care about college enough to turn you down

lfs56 08-28-2007 5:43 PM

cody, my sisters name is Serena and her boyfriend is Jordan Augsberger, i think he's living above some building on the square cuz he's got an internship at the hatchery...when im down there im usually hangin around the queen dock by the big cruisers! but ya, i might have to take you up on that cuz we sold our boat and lookin for another one

lfs56 08-28-2007 5:50 PM

cody, u gonna be at the lake on sunday?

kriedes24 08-29-2007 11:06 AM

Kalen, I might take you up on that, I don't have my board with me right now. I'm going home over labor day so maybe sometime after that.

iaforcerider 08-29-2007 1:30 PM

anyone ride The Rock (Red Rock) There is alot of good water but I never see many people riding.

brainrinse 08-29-2007 1:33 PM

I have a few times and there is always good water somewhere on the rock. If I ever get a boat I'll be a frequent visitor!

codykauz 08-29-2007 5:29 PM

yeah jared i plan to be out all weekend and hopefully will be riding some nice water in buck creek in the early mornings of all three days this weekend. hit me back if you want a tow or to hang out or whatever. if you can make it out early sunday that would be great because its always hard to find a third for early morning sets.
i think a lot of people stay away from red rock because they don't like to be turned into kabobs by those barely underwater tree tops.

lfs56 08-29-2007 7:19 PM

k cody, ill probably be at rathbun on saturday afternoon, you should head over to the queen dock and come "party" with us! it gets pretty crazy over there...did u hear about the 68ft. house boat starting to sink on the dock north of the queen dock?

kalenk 08-30-2007 7:21 AM

rad. my email is in my profile, if you are ever interested just hit me up

yeldarb 08-30-2007 9:21 AM

kriedes24, I go to ISU as well. You should consider joining the ISU ski team. It's a 3-event team, so they only have ski boats at the lake, but there are some good wakeboarders out there who can teach you some stuff.

brttkrz 08-30-2007 9:30 AM

spencer how do you find calm water on boji. I've tried but its always rough.

wazzy 08-30-2007 9:50 AM

From Rockford, Il area here.... but since we are all flooded out, are there any riding spots still open in IOWA?

spenchey 08-30-2007 11:20 AM

Brett, you can't go on the weekend unless you get up earlly (which i do), also the narrows are pretty good almost all(but its shallow) the time unless there are lots of tubers. If it is windy you head into the wind untill you come to the other side of the lake. and during the week its pretty much good water all the time, unless you get a bad wind. alot of tourist try to ride on the weekend in the middle of the day which you will never be able to find any water then.

brttkrz 09-01-2007 8:23 AM

I've gone on center a few times this year and on spirit a few times. Whenever i've tried the other lakes on weekdays they have still been pretty rough. What kinda boat do you have, i'll look for you if i'm there.

spenchey 09-01-2007 10:44 AM

i have an all yellow 06 22v with hawk stickers on the windows. its the only boat on the lake like it, hard to miss. right down it looks like we are going to have a south wind all week so if i'm out at all i'll be in the narrows or on the south side of the lake. what boat do you have?

redracer2003 09-02-2007 5:44 AM

codykauz 09-04-2007 2:15 PM

jared, thanks for coming out, hope you had a good time and maybe learned something. we didn't make it out until later on monday and were only out for a couple hours and didn't even ride. if you are back down this fall let me know we will be going out until the water temps drop below 50.

lfs56 09-06-2007 5:48 PM

alright cody, by then i should have a set of bindings on my board! i just bought a pair of '07 3DS

ship_of_fools 09-06-2007 9:26 PM

Newbie here from Iowa!

I live close to Saylorville and we have been going there. I just picked up a wake board and I am looking forward to getting it out this weekend for the first time.

I heard the Saylorville water was polluted because of sewage coming out of Fort Dodge and Boone with all the recent heavy rains??? Anyone see (taste) anything nasty in the water???

I thought about making a trip to Rathbun thinking it might be a little cleaner (different river, Chariton vs Des Moines).

Anyone have any input on water condition or debris in the water for these lakes??

codykauz 09-08-2007 12:02 PM

rathbun is good stuff. nothing strange floating out there

lfs56 09-08-2007 1:25 PM

it was pretty clear over labor day! i was surprised because of how high it was, cody my dad "called" you later that night after we rode but he ended up calling some other cody in my phone, we were gonna have u guys come over, they had all kinds of food and stuff at the dock
