Sad story, last night I was watching the news and they had bussed in Occupy Oakland demonstrators to attend the boys funeral? |
I have heard quite a bit about it, but it doesn't appear the cops are at fault on this one. The gun looked real, he didn't comply with demands to drop it, and then turned toward them with it. There were even eyewitness accounts. It is sad none the less.

There once was a time when walking down the street with a replica gun was not such a big deal. Definitely times have changed. I would think some of the responsibility would fall back on the parents. You're going to allow your children to have replica weapons need to be used responsibly so that these types of accidents don't happen

Dumb arse kid, who had dumb arse parents. A good kid would have put the guns down when they asked him to. Its sad that he lost his life, but you cant blame this on the police.

Back in middle school my friends and I had replica pellet guns. I had one that looked just like a real 45. We used to run around the neighborhood shooting each other and having fun. The cops came by one day to talk to my mom. They told her that they would likely have shot me if the circumstances made them feel threatened. That was the last time I saw that gun.
