Andy C - Drum and Bass Arena CD1

Just downloaded this last night from www.breakbeat.co.uk, it is slammin'!!!

OK not really, most of my friends just wouldn't understand it if I played it. I would fully enjoy it though, and it would give the subs a thorough workout.

andy_nintzel 05-02-2007 12:26 PM

nacho, did you buy the whole NIN album or are there only a few songs I should look at?

boarder_x 05-02-2007 5:29 PM

damn David. That's a sweet list. ... I hope since you posted it, you don't mind if I "use" it.

.... Guess i-tunes is going to be getting a lot of business from me. ... I have had many of my CD's stolen, and the rest we "borrowed." Then there is the reformatting of HD's, that almost always results in losing some music.

lfshane132 05-02-2007 5:54 PM

the xavier rudd cd, icky thump-the white stripes, the new shins cd, slightly stoopid and cds that never come out of my boat like jimi hendrix, pink floyd, sublime, led zepplin, neil young, and bob dylan

Hih hop group from minnesota? This I gotta hear!

Give a track name so I can track it down...

jimzgirly 05-02-2007 10:39 PM

Over at Tigeowners we had guys post their play lists to I-Mix so others could sample the music, even if you don't use i-tunes. I really liked it. I was able to find some new bands I liked like Bouncing Souls. Guys could do the same and just put WakeWorld and a title and post it to the i-mix and others can listen to some of the songs.

ponte_06_x2 05-03-2007 7:15 AM

yo. all you people are soft. i like to ride to r kellys 12 play and some color me bad. thats what im talkin about.

ponte_06_x2 05-03-2007 7:16 AM

Attila. No Pac. ouch

denverd1 05-03-2007 7:49 AM

andy_nintzel 05-03-2007 8:07 AM

Attila (attila916)

get the whole album its sick!

dkmode34 05-03-2007 9:50 AM

I would have to say atmosphere is pretty darn good myself.

behindtheboat 05-03-2007 10:12 AM

I'm going to go opposite here, and not recommend atmosphere. Listening to it will make you hate yourself, life and de-motivate you for boarding. The discs I have are mainly whining about what other rappers rap about. Bash away "undergrounders".

Stoopid's new cd will be out this summer. THAT will be what to play in your boat. Second that Pennywise as well.

big_ed_x2 05-03-2007 10:25 AM

Attila, remind me to bring my ipod when we ride on your boat.

jarrod 05-03-2007 10:27 AM

I like Atmosphere. I think Classified whines more, but I like a few of his songs.

Anyone check out Immortal Technique? Non-"gansta," still rough though. Very intelligent.

j3t_m3ch 05-03-2007 11:27 AM

Gotta have some of the following.....
1) Ill Nino
2) Spineshank
3) Blindside
4) Breaking bens
5) some old school Bush
6) Foo Fighters
7) Slipknot
8) Hoobastank (out of control)
9) AFI
>>>>> ANYTHING THAT GETS YOUR BLOOD PUMPING!!<<<<

socalwakepunk 05-03-2007 11:29 AM

Right now, favorite stuff is Lupe Fiasco and HellYeah.

sanddragon2004 05-03-2007 11:31 AM

anything from brian bass,

or the disfuntion krew

o and of course always MIKE JONES! haha

j3t_m3ch 05-03-2007 11:32 AM

And some barbie girl for the handle droppers

ttrigo 05-03-2007 11:37 AM

if I had a stereo in my boat, it would be rocking the following:

Social D
Bouncing Souls
Street Dogs
pennywise (old stuff)
strung out (old stuff)
Rise Against
Mad Caddies
Mustard Plug
Buck o nine
Johnny Cash
Bad Religion
Rancid
NOFX (old stuff)
Dropkick Murphys
AC/DC
Metallica (old stuff)
GnR
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

and if you have not heard the new Tim Armstrong song on the radio - Into Action. great old school dance hall sound to it. would sound great out on the boat.

alt_adjust 05-03-2007 11:48 AM

The Almost is good. CD is called Southern Weather and as much 2Pac as you can put on an ipod

mjfan23 05-03-2007 11:51 AM

Enough with all this rock...

TI
50 Cent
Akon
Birdman
Lil Wayne
Ludacris
Pretty Ricky
Young Dro
Eminem

ziggen 05-03-2007 11:55 AM

I'll second Thomas' list and add:
old less than jake
good riddance
jugghead's revenge
some wolfmother

adamcarta 05-03-2007 12:16 PM

Nice list Thomas. Also check out Streetlight Manifesto for some great modern ska and Bedouin Soundclash for some laid back reggae. All 6 of the Tim Armstrong songs that have been released so far (for free on the net) are great.

ttrigo 05-03-2007 12:31 PM

thanks for mentioning good riddance and less than jake. forgot about them. my list could be much, much longer. and thanks for the tips on those other ska bands. I'll check em out. I dont get my music from the net, but I'll keep an eye out.

Down with Rap!!!

jarrod 05-03-2007 12:36 PM

I'm down with the underground/small label rap. There's so much fresh material and style in the un-mainstream. That's about all I listen to now. I'm over the mainstream, wanna-be gangster stuff.

denverd1 05-03-2007 12:43 PM

i guess people just don't open their eyes to new stuff (or even old stuff..) but i don't really understand the obsession with 2pac. sure he was big back in the day, but c'mon. it was a solid 10 years ago. besides, biggie is where it's at.

jrod,
have you checked out Brother Ali?

denverd1 05-03-2007 12:46 PM

or gym class heroes?

behindtheboat 05-03-2007 1:00 PM

"Take a look at my girlfriend"= one of the worst songs this year

try some Memp Bleek, Shyne, C-Rayz Walz

guaranteed new trick landed

dkmode34 05-03-2007 1:00 PM

Jrod
If you look on lyricwars.com you can find some good underground stuff. One of my best friends *tiny little white guy* can free style and battle better than anyone I have ever heard.
Also you should check out DZK and omega blaze. They have some pretty good stuff. DZK would kill any rapper out there right now!

also for the people that have seen updog, I like the band first wave hello form kyle alberts section. Also they have like 3 other songs in the video. Its a different style but they are good.

J-rod,I hear you about the mainstream stuff tho few albums are good either way.

Seems like since I started listening to rap(20 years ago)that every time I start listening to some underground stuff,it becomes mainstream within 2 years tops. After it becomes mainstream some stuff loses the special quality that got it there and some stuff continues to bang and some stuff gets better!

It all depends....

From the looks of this thread,I should be carrying my ipod everywhere I go.

if biggies album was sooooo hot. why didnt it sell 22 million copies like all eyez did. i think all eyez is the best selling rap album ever. yes ive herd biggies albums. hes got dope songs on them like jucy, hipno, nasty girl, going back to cali. yea he is dope but please big ed. watch some docs read some books about hip hop then tell me what the hip hop people think. i know its just your opinion. biggie is a 87 bay liner and pac is a 07 x star,05 nau 210, and a07 xlv mal wake setter all combined

(Message edited by ponte_06_x2 on May 04, 2007)

mcwakerider 05-04-2007 8:42 AM

Pac is sick to ride to and so is Notorious BIG...
also like to listen to some country: a lil redneck yachtclub, Alcohol, toby keith, Kenny Chesney, and Tim Mcgraw.

Not gonna lie, you can also catch some Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous playing on the tower. It was playing when i landed my first tantrum, so im a lil partial lol

denverd1 05-04-2007 8:51 AM

ttrigo 05-04-2007 8:55 AM

oh, I forgot a couple. some Helmet, and Pantera.

ponte_06_x2 05-04-2007 9:00 AM

nacho im down with tool. i like music that also kicks butt. pac kicks ass in the rap game. i listen to hip hop 95% of the time but i like tool, met, godsmack, all of ozzie. also for rap tech 9 is hella dope. if people played his music they would see that this guy has mad skills. i see your point about pumped up music. metal is prob the way to go.
