Fukushima Meltdown

Please tell me I'm not the only one that has heard about this, or that these sources are incredible

"It is no exaggeration to say that the fate of Japan and the whole world depends on No.4 reactor." - Mitsuhei Murata, Former Japanese Ambassador to Switzerland and Senegal, Executive Director, the Japan Society for Global System and Ethics

'Mr. Murata's stunning statement should be front-page news everywhere around the world. Why? Because he's right. If reactor No. 4 suffers even a minor earthquake, it could set off a chain reaction of events that quickly lead to North America becoming uninhabitable by humans for centuries to come. Imagine California, Oregon and Washington states being inundated with radiation -- up to 85 times the radiation release from Chernobyl. We're talking about the end of human life on the scale of continents.'

Already there is confirmed sources of radiation in California, in the rainwater, in the marine life. And since the Fukushima meltdown started the biggest media coverup in history has ensued. The US and EPA have raised the acceptable limits of radiation, based on bunk science involving mutated cells resisting radiation damage. Now Hillary signed some pact with Japan to keep importing Japanese seafood without TESTING for radiation. WTF is going on here. All of this is getting a pass because Nuclear Energy is so profitable that protecting it is more important than human lives?

Dude, calm down for a second and down believe everything you see or read on the internet.

Classic.

last up dated march 17, 2011...... The map was added to show the wind pattern of what would happen if the reactor completely collapsed. The real issue here is not the minute amounts of radiation already on our coast, it's if another earthquake damages the pool cooling the rods already exposed to open air. The building incasing that pool has next to no structural integrity.

" The highly radioactive spent fuel assemblies at the Fukushima-Daiichi power plants present a clear threat to the people of Japan and the world. Reactor 4 and the nearby common spent fuel pool contain over 11,000 highly radioactive spent fuel assemblies, many of which are exposed to the open air. The cesium-137, the radioactive component contained in these assemblies, present at the site is 85 times larger than the amount released during the Chernobyl accident. Another magnitude 7.0 earthquake would jar them from their pool or stop the cooling water, which would lead to a nuclear fire and meltdown. The nuclear disaster that would result is beyond anything science has ever seen. Calling it a global catastrophe is no exaggeration. If political leaders understand the situation and the potential catastrophe, I find it difficult to understand why they remain silent. The following leaves little to question:

1. Many scientists believe that it will be impossible to remove the 1,535 fuel assemblies in the pool of Reactor 4 within two or three years.

2. Japanese scientists give a greater than 90 percent probability that an earthquake of at least 7.0 magnitude will occur in the next three years in the close vicinity of Fukushia-Daiichi.

3. The crippled building of Reactor 4 will not stand through another strong earthquake.

4. Japan and the TEPCO do not have adequate nuclear technology and experience to handle a disaster of such proportions alone.3"

^No that map was added to scare people. That map is not indicative of a reactor meltdown, but if Japan was attacked in a nuclear war.

wakeboardertj 05-22-2012 11:59 PM

The map is irrelevant to the story. It's from the march 2011 story about the radiation from the rods exposed to air. I showed this map in relation to the 2012 story that explains the dangers of the unstable nuclear reactor site that has the potential to cause a nuclear holocaust without a war, but you not want to focus on a map that's "exposed by snopes". :banghead:

The whole story is "exposed by snopes". A reactor meltdown will not cause a widespread "nuclear holocaust". There is a difference between weapons-grade uranium and material used inside power plants.

The fall out map in the first post reminded me of this LOL

Where did this quote even come from? I clicked on all three of your links and none of them even said this?

Also, being from California you should know better than to think that earthquakes can be predicted. Because, you know, we've been due for 'the big one' for like 20 years now...

the better question is: why do you have that pic saved to your computer, g?

;)

Scott A, the tectonic plates in Japan are far from stable since the last one that caused the tsunami. Its late I'll find some sources tomorrow

G, that is really funny. But, it would be better if it was a hot weather chick.
