i just bought the mutiny, and i don't want to hide the top graphics, i have a few designs in mind, but how clear is the clear grip tape? and how long does it last in comparison to regular grip tape

I think clear grip on that Mutiny is a no brainer. Colored/clear grip won't last as long as the regular black stuff, but I think just about anyone with that deck would live with it.

clear grip is plenty clear enough to see the graphic underneath. i have a strip of clear on my deck.

clear grip doesnt last as long as is usually a coarser grit that doesnt feel as good, but im sure you will get used to it.

your board definitely needs clear grip though. suuuch a sick top sheet

Where can I get clear tape. I would want to get it wider than my local skateboard shop has, it is only 8 inches wide.

jacob23 06-12-2009 9:05 PM

don you should bring it this weekend when we go

wakemitch 06-12-2009 9:07 PM

they only make it in skate sized sheets. you need to get 3 sheets. if you do it right you wont see a seam, especially because its clear.

Thanks Mitch for the info, I am thing about cutting out circles of the clear and putting it on in a random pattern, or cutting strips and doing a striped pattern. Haven't figured it out yet. Still contemplating.

wakemitch 06-13-2009 4:08 PM

so you are using clear and black?

lfrider92 06-13-2009 5:38 PM

we ended up doing all clear. but we dont have the right screw for the fin, so now we arnt bringing it again...

wakemitch 06-13-2009 6:56 PM

fins? haha

what do you mean you dont have the right screw?

lfrider92 06-13-2009 7:02 PM

yes fins. haha

i sent you a message on myspace saying what it is.
but the screw austin gave us, which he pulled off of his integrity, sticks about like an 1/8th of an inch above the board, can we use a contersink bit on the top of the deck to make it so the screw is flush to the board? or will that go into the foam

ktm525 06-13-2009 8:05 PM

It's fixed. The fin is on. The clear taped is on and it looks dope, you can see the graphics fine. Thanks everyone
