Longer wake???

Just bought a 2005 X2. Have tried all setups with sacks full, half full, and tons of people. Problem is I can get a big wake it seems as the wake wont get deep enough. To ride the board is constantly hitting the swim deck. I have heard from diff people that this is a hard boat to surf behind because of how narrow it is. I can believe it but has to have some answer. I ordered 2 external 750lb sacs. Anyone have any tips?? The boat riding wake is insane. Surfing sucks though. Thanks in advance.

Conventional wisdom is more weight in front = longer wake, more in back = steeper. You've probably heard that, I'm struggling with my surf wake as well (different boat)

That thread is for an 07 x2 which has a different hull then the 05.

We have 05 x2 as well and started with a terrible surf wake. We ordered 2 750 fat sacs to replace the hard tanks. Fill whatever side you surfing plus the center tank and having one or two people on the side your surfing helps you get a great wake. We found the best speed to be right at 9.5 mph. Anything below 9 or above 10 it got really washy. This set up gave me a good enough wake to teach myself on a small skimboard.
