I have a 2006 Sea Ray 205 sport with a factory tower, and I wanted to get some tower speakers. But there is now way they will fit unless I ditch the bimini top. Is there any side mounted tower speakers to install or any other ideas? Thanks.

you can install most speakers on the side if you wanted to. Most clamsp are adjustable and would fit the side bars of a tower. My concern wouldl be gettting them caught on ropes, boards and possibly other boats if you ever tie up.

thanks, glad i asked before i did anything. i didn't even think about that. i might just have to settle for a nice system without the tower speakers. there is no way the misses is gonna let that bimini top go. haha

put them above the bimini unless the bimini is over the tower which i never seen before

sorry i ment on top of the tower above the bimini

This is the idea the people a Topside Marine in San Jose had for my boat. People have either like it or hated it. We love it! it is truley a one of a kind design.

Thanks we love it ! Thought people would recognize them. Hope it gives Josh another idea.

My only question is how do they get decent sound with without any type of enclosure?

ceres1312 08-22-2007 5:42 PM

If you look at a normal Proflight Tower it has two bars that run perpendicular to the ones you can see in the picture that I posted. He sandwiched the two speakers in there, and they sound incredible! I thought they would not produce the quality that I was looking for but they far exceeded my expectations. I will post the other ones once I find them again of the install.

that is very nice

josh_wilkes 08-22-2007 7:43 PM

that looks very sweet. mounting them on top of the the bar is a good idea. does anybody have a picture of that? thanks for all the good help.

ceres1312 08-22-2007 8:05 PM

That is pretty much it in the picture department. I will see if I can get some other shots of my boat. Like I said in the beginning this is a one of a kind design that he fabricated from his head. Glad you like it, if you want to talk to him he can be reached at www.topsidemarine.com his name is Jim.

might work ok for sound in the boat , but most want tower speakers for sound behind the boat ;) . Either re design ur bimini , or mount the speakers on top of the tower . G/L
