Umbrella for swimming?

I am going to try to design an umbrella that will hang over the water while I swim around the boat. I would just as soon stay out of the sun all day. Any ideas?

You could get one of those cantilevered patio ones and swing it out one side or the other. The only problem is it would make quite a sail if the wind came up and it would sure take space while you were running.

How bout a "pivoting bimini" that can swing out over water on either side of boat:cool:

I'm thinking about going the way of the swinging Bimini. Just can't quite imagine the design in my head just yet. Anyone have any experience?

Where is your ski pilon located.
I was thinking if you had a V drive you could retrofit some sort of adaptor that would allow you to slide one of thoes curved umbrellas over or on to your ski pilon.

Damn. Good call grant. That's a good idea. One of the deck umbrellas with the mount on the top. Swivel it around. Good call

Maybe ryan from chucktronics might have a pic, but i believe the xstar with a ton of wetsounds speakers and custom bracing they did had something made for shade as well.. I remember seeing something like it on the delta. It might have even been the giant cantilever patio shade from costco and they fabricated a pylon mount for it. It was an awesome idea whatever it was though.
