I got a new boat last august, had for two days and got hit by a bass boat at night time. After TWRA concludes their investigation, I finally get the boat back (in January 2005)-- with a half rotten interior, (4) holes in the hull, (3) broken skags, a broken bumper molding and some serious scarred up gel coat- I am now installing a rival download ballast (2000#) 2005 west coast decals and a new Interior. I just hope that TWRA properly winterized it!!!

Brandon, That sucks.
Did you sign anything regarding the condition of the boat prior to the authority in question taking it?

Generally, when towing/storing a car, a form is filled out noting damage, overall condition, etc. The office in charge of the investigation signs that form prior to the towing agent taking the vehicle. Any damage beyond that which is present whe they take cusotdy of the vehicle is on them....In Ca. that form is called a DMV-180...If this is the case, take a look at that form, take lots of pics and speak to an attorney.

That's horrible man!! Was it one of the nutty fishermen on Ft. Loudon?

I live in Lenoir City, so I'm just a few minutes ride from you. You come down to LC to ride? I I hope you can get TWRA to properly take responsibility for what they've done.

Sorry to hear about that, Brandon. Was that the accident that killed the two guys in the bass boat?

Anyway, you're always welcome to ride with us out of Concord Marina in West Knox--before or after your boat gets fixed up. Send me a PM if you want a pull.

is anybody else having trouble viewing the pictures?

mikeski 03-14-2005 11:40 AM

I can't view it. Although the reading the story is so upsetting I am not sure if I want to see the file.

I have good pictures from the dig. camera, but I can not figure out how to post them--says they are to big. Only the passenger in the bassboat (not in his seat) died and it was on douglass lake. I did get forms from twra, but it really doesn't say anything about conditions of the boat. I did finish getting the pumps in the compartments, hoses ran and the switches wired and installed in the dash--I can't wait
