99 SAN with pyton motor.
 

I just had a quick question about the SAN's with the python motors. I have seen two now priced around $18K, one at a local dealer and now one on here. Why do these seemed to be priced lower than other SAN's around the same year with the smaller motors. Just curious.

I'm not sure i'd call $18,500 priced below, it is an 11 year old boat afterall. A buddy of mine scored a '98 early last year in great shape for $14K. Every Python equipped SAN i've seen for sale always seemed higher to me.

I thought the Python SANs were offered something like '00-02.

I too have noticed a couple of very reasonably priced ones. Not sure why. I'm sure it's a bit of a gas hog but there's a guy in town with a regular '01 SAN and his boarding buddy is my neighbor. He complains of it being a bit underpowered with extra ballast on board. You would think the Python would be sought after and demand a premium price.

Pythons do demand a premium price. That is a low price on a clean Python powered SAN. I would wonder what was up. Asking prices on Nautiques in that year range (98-00) are on average somewhere around 16500-19000 for a Pro Air and upwards of 25k for a SAN with a Python. There's one on OIB priced around 18k with an FCT1 tower. Might be the location, the tower, and the crap stock ballast in it adding to the price.

Pretty sure the one on here was sunk on Powell. I almost bought it 2 years ago from a guy in AZ (had the same reg numbers). I called Century Marine to have them check it out and when he asked if I had the vin. I did and quickly found out the history. I would ask this guy whats up if youre interested. He may have fixed everything. It does look to be in better condition than the pics I have of it.

The 1999 in Jacksonville on onlyinboards is my uncle's old boat. I've been in that boat for probably 75% of those hours and it was taken care of very well. Always flushed and washed down after every use and impeller and oil changes at very regular intervals.

They aren't gas hogs, because the motor doesn't have to work very hard. It did seem to burn some oil, though. I hear this is normal with big blocks though.
