I have a 1988 nautique and a Skylon extended pylon to go with it. The problem is that the curve on the existing pylon seems to prevent me from adding the extended pole. Anyone have the same problem and figure out an effective workaround?

Yeah I used a 3in pvc pipe to keep it from getting hung on that spot, made it real ez to get off when I needed to get it in the garage. Just cut the pipe so the pylon will hit it just above the curve in the factory pylon

The pylon should of came with a pin to adjust the height that the pole sits. I have the same boat, and I have no problems with the pin in.

Scott - Is the bottom of your skylon flush with the carpet or right above the curve of the factory pylon (like David's)?
|
Hey, what's the trick to getting the pylon over that red protective sleeve? I can't seem to do it, so I just don't bother with it.
|
it should have came with three different colors of sleeves red white and yellow.I have an 86 nauti and my pole sits at the bend about 3 inches up from the pole.Is that bad???
|
votas: no, it doesn't sit flush, it sits up a little above the curve. i don't have any problems with it. <BR>Chris: i use the yellow protective sleeve. the red one is too tight for the pylon to slip on.

Uh Oh, I bought it used and only got the red one with it. Any alternatives?
