speedy600 12-05-2006 4:31 PM

I need a new boat by the end of the month. What's is everyone's opinion on the best boat. Am looking 22-24 feet.

jon_a 12-05-2006 4:39 PM

Supra 22SSV-new hull, new design, amazing wake, and won't break the bank compared to the competition.

breakz77 12-05-2006 4:39 PM

Here we go again with the best boat thread... <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Jason, <BR>Go to your nearest dealers and demo all that you are interested in. Honestly that is going to be your best bet than asking on here what boat is the best

san210nut 12-05-2006 4:41 PM

DCB 22' <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/394247.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR>It's really fast <BR> <BR>or an Allison <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/394248.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR>Both boats are top of the line and will do over 100 MPH!

speedy600 12-05-2006 4:46 PM

I would love to go to the dealer and demo them, but I have the problem of ice. I have mine sold and have to leave at the end of the month for AZ. So this is the best I can to, I don't want to see much boat bashing, I know there will be and have read the past threads, but the bottom line is in 22-24 foot boat are realatively similar, but each has the selling points, what are they. I have had good luck with Supra, but I haven't driven a new big one. I am asking for experience, not BS. I know everyone loves their boat, and everyones boat is the best, but why??

speedy600 12-05-2006 4:48 PM

I want to buy a boat fast, and a wakeboard boat, thus this is WW, not a fast boat...what is this crap??

san210nut 12-05-2006 4:52 PM

I think it's pretty funny that everyone says that. Specially since I almost bought his boat. I don't believe he can post on here anymore, at least from what he says. We do live in the same town though. You can check with several people on these boards and all will assure that I am not Bocephus. <BR> <BR>Hey Jason, <BR>Why not just buy a boat in Arizona? Ice isn't an issue here. I know several of the dealers that would love to sell you a boat right now. There are lots of deals around here now, check with Century Marine for a Nautique and Paradise Watersports for a Malibu, both are great dealers.

speedy600 12-05-2006 4:56 PM

I'm willing to buy one anywhere from WI to AZ, but I wanna be sure of what I'm getting, I don't want to do this on a prayer. I could go buy a truck right now and I know exactually what I would get, I am just up in the air with boats though.

san210nut 12-05-2006 4:58 PM

Both of those dealerships are top notch and will stand behind anything they sell. <BR> <BR>Century Marine <BR><a href="http://www.centurymarine.com" target="_blank">www.centurymarine.com</a> <BR>Ask for Melanie <BR> <BR>Paradise Watersports <BR><a href="http://www.paradiseaz.com/" target="_blank">http://www.paradiseaz.com/</a> <BR>Ask for Andy

sharkyvonmarks 12-05-2006 5:00 PM

he's right you should demo but if you can't i would suggest staying the hell away from Centurion boats i sold them for a while and made the stupid move to buy one i cant believe i purchased that peice of crapp i would look toward a Sanger or Malibu last to great boats out there and that is Reality!!!!!

san210nut 12-05-2006 5:05 PM

MarineMax on Broadway is going to sell Sanger, but their service department blows big time! Otherwise you can still buy that at Arizona Discount Marine.

speedy600 12-05-2006 5:30 PM

I know nothing about Sanger, we don't have any sanger dealer, nor have I ever seen one. any good?? anyone have a tige, have hear a lot of good about them. Any truth to that??

mendo247 12-05-2006 5:40 PM

WOW! I thought you just finished your other boat and had it all dialed in?? my only suggestion would be.... <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/393980.html?1165338746" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/393980.html?1165338746</a> <BR> <BR><blockquote><hr size=0><!-quote-!><font size=1><b>quote:</b></font><p> Next time I am just gonna get a boat that is done, cause I think I have more than a new boat into ths thing. If anyone wants to ride, it will be in Phoenix all Jan thru March and we will be out almost everyday. Thanks for looking.<!-/quote-!><hr size=0></blockquote> <BR> <BR>you said it yourself<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>seriously though dont go jumping into a new boat if youve never even been in or around one, id just wait till you can demo.. you might really regret it!

fbi 12-05-2006 5:44 PM

I would buy a 236 Nautique Team and not even think twice about it. Awesome boat all the way around.

speedy600 12-05-2006 5:49 PM

Alright, I can bite on that, now is it better in the end to get a fully loaded boat, modestly loaded or just bare bones. And rich, ya, I had my fun with the upra, but I am sick of playing around. I just want something normal.

fbi 12-05-2006 5:51 PM

236 all the way. This is a sick boat inside and out. Tons of room, great driveability, quality and wakes. Ease of service and everything else you would expect from the JD Power Recipient 4 times in a row.

byrd 12-05-2006 6:04 PM

Dont count out a MasterCraft X-Star. I spent a whole afternoon in one and behind one last Sunday.....

woreout 12-05-2006 6:05 PM

If theres ice everywhere whats your hurry?

speedy600 12-05-2006 6:07 PM

Is the X-1 better than some of the bigger models??

woreout 12-05-2006 6:11 PM

The X1 is probably the best bang for the buck. The XSTAR... well, Its just badass.

wake_upppp 12-05-2006 6:23 PM

badass?, yeah with what 3k in ballast! The thing is a tank.

madchild1 12-05-2006 7:14 PM

make sure to get the mach 22 with twin promax 300s. it'll go 124.2.

bigshow 12-05-2006 7:20 PM

I don't understand how you young guys pull off buying "money is no object" boats. What kind of $$ does a 236 go for, I know X-Stars are way up there. <BR> <BR>You're 24 years old, dumped a ton of $$$ into a stereo for your boat, sold that boat and are going to buy a new boat in less than 30 days - must be some good living.

speedy600 12-05-2006 7:29 PM

well I could have went to school for 10 years to be a doctor and bought a nice boat when I turned 50 and was too old to do anything with it, but I decided to work and have fun. sorrry. I mean what do you want me to do, buy a 1970 tri hull with a 70 horse johnson and go tubing?? I'll come to your lake and mess up you butter water

bigshow 12-05-2006 7:42 PM

Cool if you can pull it off, you must be doing something right.

speedy600 12-05-2006 7:47 PM

sorry for jumpin down your throught, but I have worked pretty hard for what I have. I didn't have much when I started and now I can, so I want to enjoy it, but I did have to earn it. I am not spoiled

bigshow 12-05-2006 7:54 PM

Na, you’re good. I should have just read the post, said to myself wow, and moved on. One of the reasons I work hard at what I do is so I can enjoy time on the water, sounds like it's the same for you.

gmarkham1 12-06-2006 6:02 AM

Jason, <BR> <BR>Check out Lauderdale Lakes(elkhorn, wi).. they have a couple lightly used boats... a 210 team edition, and an 06 launch 21v, both I think are very reasonably priced, <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.boattraderonline.com/dealer.html?734858" target="_blank">http://www.boattraderonline.com/dealer.html?734858</a> <BR> <BR>(be sure to check out midwestwakeboarder.com, lots of guys and gals from wisco on their!)

imiguy68 12-06-2006 9:11 AM

for supra or moomba, check out surfside boat center in mesa,AZ

kingfish2wkbrd 12-06-2006 1:53 PM

I've got a 2005 24 SSV for Sale. I'd take 49,000 for it. It's at Extreme Marine in Kansas City, KS currently. Don't have many pics, but you can check my myspace. If you want more info email me at <a href="mailto:kingfish2wkbrd@kc.rr.com">kingfish2wk brd@kc.rr.com</a> and I can get you more pics.

bennygoodx 12-06-2006 2:46 PM

Jason, what is your budget??? I can give some advice depending upon how much you got to spend. I went to one extreme and I spent about as much as you can on a wakeboard boat--view profile pic. So I would recommend that boat for sure.

scarabii 12-06-2006 4:54 PM

2006 Supra Launch 21V 325MPI, tower speakers, amp, sub, docking lights, heater, dual battery w/isolater, rankin cover, transferable warranty.. $43500.00 <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/394457.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/394458.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/394459.jpg" alt="Upload">

ryan27r 12-06-2006 5:00 PM

Call Jeremey at Nisswa marine in MN he should be able to give you a good deal on either a 22 or a 24

azwakekid 12-06-2006 5:09 PM

red sovine whats wrong with the service department at marine max? from what i know there are 4 certified tecks there both in mercruiser amd indmar, and century there is one teck and im not sure about paradise, but i know the guys at paradise all came from marine max.

speedy600 12-06-2006 6:26 PM

Well I guess I am looking 40-45K for a mid size 21-22', and if I go for a 24', I'm looking in the 50's. But from what I have been hearing, 21-22 is better than a 24, as far as a wake is concerned. Is this true??

san210nut 12-06-2006 6:57 PM

Rodney, <BR>Marine Max sells boats, they don't do service as a business model. They will service a boat for you but don't expect great service. The MB that I had originally came from there and they would not service it any more since they stopped selling MB's. Heck they won't even schedule a service for you unless you bought your boat there from them in the last year. Century will bend over backyard for you. <BR> <BR>Oh ya, Rodney, since I know you use to work there sorry, but the service department over there sucks <BR> <BR>(Message edited by san210Nut on December 06, 2006)

supra24ssv 12-06-2006 7:00 PM

i don't think so

ralph 12-06-2006 7:18 PM

Jason generally speaking shorter boats will through bigger wakes than big boats with the same amount of ballast. However if you are willing to slam the 24ft boats the wakes get silly big. <BR> <BR>If your looking for a 21-22 ft V-drive in the sub 50 bracket its hard to go past the Supra 21V or Sanger V215 IMO.

speedy600 12-06-2006 7:28 PM

so far the deals are - 06 Supra 21V or 20SSV, 06 Tige 21Ve, 07 Mastercraft X-1, all in the 40's, or I can get an 06 24SSV for 47k, (but no big block) or a 06 Moomba XLV for for 32500 all locally....any thoughts??

bennygoodx 12-06-2006 7:38 PM

Tige is also in there. Nice boats. Guess it's time to demo. All the dealers will step up if you're serious, Jason. Good luck!!!

jon_a 12-06-2006 8:08 PM

I'd be all over the 21V.

redsupralaunch 12-07-2006 5:12 AM

Jason - Mapquest says 7hr 57m to Muncie IN <BR> <BR>06 21V Promo boat w/150 hrs. serviced by one of the longest running Supra dealerships. We dont have any Ice yet but window is small. You can demo. Lot of pics and price 765-744-6310 <a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/356977.html?1158787772" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/356977.html?1158787772</a>

midwesty 12-07-2006 7:16 AM

fbi 12-07-2006 3:29 PM

Are you going to compare apples to apples or just shop price? <BR> <BR>I would recommend doing additional homework!

san210nut 12-07-2006 3:34 PM

Additional? I suggest he at least starts doing his homework and not take a bunch of idiots, like me, advice from the internet on how to spend $50K.

azwakekid 12-07-2006 5:23 PM

naw i never worked at marine max, i worked at bergeron marine, get it right.

wiscoepic 12-07-2006 8:21 PM

Jason I sent you a PM <BR> <BR>Scott

bennygoodx 12-08-2006 1:18 AM

He should just give me 50K; I could figure out how to spend it...

san210nut 12-08-2006 8:04 AM

Rodney, <BR>You worked for Phil? That's your problem then. You told us that you worked at Marine Max and now you are driving a truck or something, right? I just remember how huge you went that day out on the lake. FREAKIN' HUGE!
