Have a buddy close to possibly purchasing this boat. Anybody have any thoughts, good/bad? How is the wake??? See pics/link below.

http://www.valleymarine.net/product_detail.asp?id=60

sorry I tried to upload, and didn't want to take the time to resize all the images...just click the link.

I had an 86 and I am not sure when they changed the hulls around, but from what I can see, it looks similar to what I had. The wake was nice and you could shape it based on where you put weight. More weight in the back and you could get a steeper wake, more evenly distributed, you could get more of a rampy style wake that Malibu's are known for. Just have him take a look at the floor/stringers as they will be wood as will most of the seat bases, etc.

The boat looks pretty nice from the pictures. Just have him check the stringers and floor like Stephen mentioned.

Had a 3k glass job done to my boat (thankfully before I bought it) That boat is identical to mine, but mine is purple. Sounds Like a reasonable deal. 30 hrs???? whats the story? Lately we run anywhere from 1k to 2k in ballast and people. 2k is pushing it, and have to be careful not to dip the bow. Have not repropped, and does fine for those numbers. goes through roughly 3-5 gph ( i did keep track for 40 hours). Holler for any specifics. I like the wake, yet I have only ridden a few boats...... I would say beginer is great, intermediate and advance are ok, and pro is no (should have own boat anyway). enough room for 6 people, have pushed it to 8 and a half. It gets the job done.

Other boat to compare would be a 2001. I saw one at the lake the otherday, and looked tiny as far as room, and wake looked to be roughly the same when loaded up, I didnt ride it though. Another would be a vlx but you are looking at 20k, not 10k.

I am not sure how good my wake pics are, I will check.

Actually 20.5 feet, and 260hp. Rough water is awfull unless weighted, then it is ok.

Not entirely sure if this has the exact same hull, as only a few were imported over here I'm not too familiar with them. But these pics are from a Euro f3. Used to belong to Daniel Watkins actually. They're a fun boat.

That would get swamped on our lakes. That thing is loaded up. I think its the same hull, but shorter, and not as wide, it is a skier.

Thanks for the info guys...

as far as the 30hrs, dealer says owner had it replaced just last year..haven't got anymore details than that thus far...

I had a 92 with the same hull and it made a nice wake. We put fat sacks next to the motor box and it made a great wake. Great for starting out!
