How far would you drive to go to a cable park. If you had one within an hour how often would you go. If it was three hours how often then.

j_money 11-19-2007 8:39 AM

Everyday.... I live in Minnesota and if I didnt have a job I would drive to OWC every week during winter!!! If I lived an hour aways from a cable in the summer I would go there whenver a boat was not around. Just my 2 cents...

bendow 11-19-2007 8:44 AM

I live about 45 minutes from TSR and I go about 4 times a week in the summer and about 1 time a week in the winter.

toby_yeo 11-19-2007 8:44 AM

Yeah, definatly. I would drive to the cable which is 1 hour and a bit away as much as i could if i could drive. ha

timmy 11-19-2007 8:52 AM

I don't generally drive 1 hour to rixen or 2.25 hours to OWC, but I don't mind driving 3.5 to spend the weekend at the lake.

weird huh?

fly135 11-19-2007 9:12 AM

O'dub is about 40 minutes from me. When I was single I was going about 4 -5 times a week.

ccwhite 11-19-2007 9:33 AM

15 minutes to TSR from my house... and 0 since I would prefer to behind my boat then a cable anyday of the week.

But before I got my boat I went to TSR a couple of times a month

spicychalupa69 11-19-2007 9:40 AM

Jesse, im from MN too and usually my buddies and i take one 'cable park trip' a year. we went to OWC the last two, drove straight through the night 26 hours, rode two days and went to daytona beach for the rest! make it a road trip with friends, it will be an awesome time!

j_money 11-19-2007 10:02 AM

We might just have to do that!!!

26lacefield 11-19-2007 10:41 AM

well if they put that one in SD i'll drive to it maybe 4 times a summer. i live in fresno which is about a 7 hour drive.

fuller313 11-19-2007 11:19 AM

I live 15 minutes from TSR but I have a boat so I haven't ever ridden there. I can't justify spending $30 bucks or so to ride a cable when I have a boat just out my backyard. If I didn't have a boat I'd be there all the time.

jon4pres 11-19-2007 12:21 PM

I live around an hour from one and have never been. Would like to go sometime but I guess not enough to go there instead of to the lake with the boat.

spicychalupa69 11-19-2007 12:24 PM

Jon4pres, i see youre from Kansas, youre probs talkin bout KCW, its tight! that was the first cable park i ever went to back in '05. Give it a shot man, there's not much to lose! the only thing i have to say to compare KCW and OWC is that bar none, the people at OWC were so much nicer, more pleasant and extremely friendly!

sidekicknicholas 11-19-2007 12:48 PM

i drive an hour+ to snowboard, which i hate...so for a cable park no question

bendow 11-19-2007 1:17 PM

I think it's a shame that 2 of you live 15 minutes from TSR, but have never been. It's a nice change of pace and it's a lot of fun to give the rails a go.

singapore_sling 11-19-2007 1:44 PM

I live 40 minutes from TSR and when I wasn't busy during the school year(and before it got cold)I was going down most weekends. If I wasn't busy with college crap or other stuff I would have gone even more often.

mxflyer281 11-19-2007 1:45 PM

I live about 45 min from Odub just depending on traffic orlando lol but i usually got twice a month but i ride behind the boat twice a week idk im to lazy to ride the cable i end up crusin around doin some stupid tech stuff cause i hate swimming

clearlakescott 11-19-2007 2:15 PM

OWC is only ten minutes away but since I live on a lake I only go about 4 times a year

nickdakoolkat 11-19-2007 2:35 PM

I would go at least 2-4 times a week year round...we gotta get a cable park up here in NorCal someday, we have quite possibly the largest wakeboarding community in the world Im sure people would use it!

fuller313 11-19-2007 4:00 PM

Benjamin- I hardly even go behind my boat. I only go if someone calls me up to go.

vin 11-19-2007 6:20 PM

i drive about 2 hours to work and 2 home everyday so if i was gunna drive to play it could be about 3 hours away i would still go every weekend

bendow 11-19-2007 8:31 PM

wait, you drive 2 hours to work but yet it takes you 2 hours to get home? that makes no sense. jk

that's a far ass drive...I couldn't imagine doing that every day.

11-19-2007 8:53 PM

if i had one within a couple of hours i'd drive there maybe once a month

owenitall 11-19-2007 10:51 PM

ditto to what alan said. the closest one to me is a good 12 hours away, but i want to plan a trip this spring.

riverside 11-19-2007 11:48 PM

Never,..i do not like cable parks.
it is only a 15 minute drive away, but my boat is a 5 minute drive away.

ccwhite 11-20-2007 5:27 AM

Jeff - Which lake do you ride on? Im on Dunlap all the time in the bright green sanger pull up and say hello whenever you on the lake.

If you need a 3rd or just wanna ride drop me a PM

mx118 11-20-2007 9:01 AM

Jeff,

We still need to ride together.

Chris I ride McQuenney quite a bit as well as TSR. I would like to ride Placid more but I have trouble with my boat on their public ramp.

I would like to ride the lake more just don't have the time. TSR is quick and easy and fun too. Wish they would make some changes though.

Oh yeah, the answer to your question is about 3 hours to 4 hours.

(Message edited by mx118 on November 20, 2007)

Hey Mike, haven't seen you in awhile. I'll be at TSR tomorrow, provided I can dig out of work early enough. Think you can make it? It's always fun to watch someone of your size do backrolls!

hijack-over

fuller313 11-20-2007 10:05 AM

robertr720 11-20-2007 10:11 AM

I live about 45 to an hour away from TSR, I was going once a week to ride the night sessions but now that that is over I have been going about once a month just to keep up on the rail skills. I sure hope they put out some more new rails to keep the park interesting. That A frame can get old after awhile and the big LF slider they have always seems to have something wrong with it. At least the last two times I went. I still think it is a very fun way to change it up every now and then and night sessions kick ass.

ccwhite 11-20-2007 10:43 AM

When they changed the slider config last year or so it completly messed it up for me... also, I am a wimp and I hate those handles they use, 5 laps or so and I need to give my hands a break.

Mike/Jeff - when I first got my boat I was on McQueeny as well (in the marina by the dam) but Dunlap is so much better to ride on (its never crowded) I moved the boat to off the water storage and just take the extra 30 minutes to launch the boat. I have been on placid a couple of times, but its so small that 3 boats just make it crowded.

1 hour= i would go probaly everyday during the weekend

3hours = i would probaly go 2-4 times a month
