Jeff, <BR>It's all about the driver. Great driver= great wake. Well it does allow me to sit in the back corner so that helps also.

That's knee high 20 feet back, sweet. <BR> <BR>Ya, when Dean rides with us we put him in the back corner too, the big guy makes a difference. <BR> <BR>Both sides look very good but the port looks better. You don't have Dennis sitting on the back corner when Dennis is surfing.

Hey Heber, <BR>05 V215. Factory ballast on the side surfing, Front ballast full, 500 - 600 lbs water ballast on side surfing, 160 lbs lead under water in back, 160 lbs lead next to battery, 140 lbs lead on floor next to seat. Speed from 10.5 to 11.5. Third picture is at 11.5 four people on board. Hope this helps. <BR>Welcome to the sport.

Heber, <BR>I see you are from El Dorado Hills. Those pictures are at Folsom today. I read in another post you are waiting for things to warm up. You have to go out at Folsom in the winter to get good water. Send me an e-mail if I can help you with your boat in any way.

So funny, yesterday as I'm in the water a boat comes over to ask us what the water temp was - uuumm, duh Freakin' COLD! Doesn't it become relative at some point? I mean, really...if you have to ask - it's TOO COLD! <BR> <BR>Yeah, the boards are prototypes of Mike's Composite X's. The blue one is the 5'0"...nice old man board I think. <BR> <BR>Nick you do have the eye, the first pic is being ridden as a quad, we fiddled around with fins. I think there is something to be said for longer base fins...probably not the staggered ones like we played with, but possibly a molded long base fin if we can get the placement and figured out. Stealing the idea from the 4-skim. <BR> <BR>Sean Ward had an elegantly simple idea...drill holes and use a long base 2" or so wakeboard fin. That way we could fiddle with the placement and such. I want to try a Walzer with the fin placement changed.

Hey look, I'm enhanced! <IMG SRC="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":-)" BORDER=0> <BR> <BR>When I was way back on this wake, traveling around 11.5 per PP, I was able to accelerate pretty quickly on this board and due to the length of the pocket, I'm guessing I was doing about 15 mph at about the time I had to slam on the brakes to NOT hit the transom. THAT felt incredibly fast and with that extra speed, you could dig in and turn harder. <BR> <BR>I'd love to surf a pocket that was in the 30 foot range and was still "knee'ish" high. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/559019/421100.jpg" alt="Upload">

Even though the water is cold about 50, when the Walker's and I get together we always have fun. Personally I am thrilled that my Sanger wake is getting dialed in and approaching the quality that we get behind Jeff's boat. It makes the riding so much more fun.

Dennis, <BR>Your wake is looking really good. I have an 07 V215 and I live in Folsom and ride Folsom Lake all the time. Just out last night. I have tried so many differnt ways of weighting my boat. I am having the hardest time getting it dialed. I just have a couple questions for you. Are you using lead plates or lead pelets in bags? Is there somewhere local to get it? When you said you have 160 lbs under water in the back, where exactly where you talking about? In the very back behind the removeable pannel right up against the inside of the transom? I have 3 Fat Sacks. 1 at 700lbs and 2 V-Drive Launch Pads at 350lbs each. I have filled the front and port side stock ballast and have moved those three sacs in many different places throughout my boat. I still am not getting a wake like yours. I want to get the lead and set it up the way you are talking about. Thanks for your input and help.

Hey Devlin, <BR>I put the lead under the sack in the back locker. If I am riding with just my wife and daughter I will put 340 lbs under the water. I then stack the 2 350 sacs in the locker. I put the rest of the lead next to the seat or under the seat. Where are you putting the 700 # sack? I would rpobably buy popsacks if I hadn't traded for this lead. The lead sacks weigh about 85# each an are a pain to move around. The pop sacks weigh 40# each. Let me know when you are going out and I might be able to meet you and help get your boat dialed in. I have the removable panels out so the sacs kind of flow that way.

OH ok, so you put both 350lb V-Drive Sacs stacked one on top of the other in the same locker on the surf side with the lead on the floor under both sacs. Gotcha. I have moved my configuration around all different ways but the way I would say most matches the way you have your boat, I tried once with putting both sacs in the port locker, the 700lb sac on the port side seat and then the stock port ballast and the front ballast and still no luck on a good surf wave. And that was with a 200lb guy sitting on the back port deck. I have 2 other questions for you then. Have you modified your inner locker removable engine walls with anything? When I put a sac in the locker compartments and fill them up, if I fill them up too much it really flexes the pannels that accesses the engine compartment. Looks like they are going to snap. I was thinking about beefing those up some how to make so I can fill up the sacs all the way without it breaking those pannels. 2nd question is, I have talked to Fly High about building me a (Enzo Sac) style custom sac that will fill the complete locker compartment on the port side then run up the port side of the boat under the seat. I was then going to plumb it into the stock pumps and vent system so I can just turn a value and push a button to fill and drain the sac. Do you think that alone or that and maybe some lead sacs sitting under it will work and be worth the money? <BR> <BR>Thanks for your help and I would like to meet up any time on the lake. Hey Dave, <BR>My opinion is that the compartments are too small to only fill with water. It seems as though the water alone would not provide enough weight. Thats why I added the lead to my boat. I think the 700 # sac is to much weight to far forward when it sits on the seat. I want to get a custom sac to fill the back compartment and use the lead to get more weight. I don't think that the enzo style sac will provide enough water under the seats as it does in the enzo. The seat is not as deep or wide. You can just put lead under there and it should be good. i haven't put anything on my side panels and have not had any problem. I think they have come out of the track so that might have helped. I am surprised when stacking 2 v-drive sacs on top of each other you would not bend or break your inside engine compartment wall. Mine flexes to the point where it is going to break when I just fill 1 of my 350lb V-Drive sacs let alone 2. I actual cut out a 1/2 piece of plywood and placed it insdie the locker against the stock plastic engine wall. That took care of that problem. So you think putting the 700lb bag on the port side seat is too much weight too far forward? I never though about that. It seems like what your saying works the best is putting as much weight possible in the far corner of the surf side of the boat? Not so much up the sides of the boat? I appreciate your input on the Enzo Sac also. That would save me 350 bucks. Sounds like I need to get lead and a Fat Sac that fills my complete surf side locker. I like the idea of the bags of lead. I would want something that is easy to move around. Any suggestions where to find and buy that around Folsom? Thanks again Dennis for your help. Yeah, I have seen those before. They look nice and easy to move around. But alittle on pricy side. I am going to keep my eye out for some short of handled pouch that is simular to theirs but I can buy a bunch of for a much keeper price. Then I will fill them with lead pelets or BB's. Try to save some money on 800lbs.
