I tried wakeskating for the first time a few weeks ago and got hooked right away. Anyways, i just picked up an 08 liquid force impluse on clearance and was looking for a few tips. Ive got a little skateboarding experience (ollies, kickflips, shuvs) and was wondering what the trick is to busting an ollie on the water. It seems like when i was trying to ollie, the board would just slow way down and i'd fall forward off the board. Is the technique pretty much the same as skateboarding? Thanks in advance

one thing that is important is you do not slide your feet at all when ollieing (unlike skateboarding). If you've learned to ollie on a wakeboard it should help in technique

the board will come up as high as your feet go. so when you ollie really pick up your feet to let the board come up.
slam that tail into the water and jump off your back foot. at the very peak you will push your front foot forward, but you have to make sure you are getting your back foot up.
anyone can ollie high, its just that a lot of people are timid and are afraid to jump up and suck up their feet.
the board wants to come up

also if you go faster the water fels firmer so you can snap a harder ollie. if you are going to slow the board will just sink in as you push the tail instead of wanting to come back up.

Thanks for the tips guys! I just picked up The Book wakeskating edition, so hopefully that will help me progress pretty quick.
