Thoughts on good wakeboarding boats

I'm looking for a wakeboard boat. If its a 2003 or newer I can go up to $25000 but if its older then that my limit is $17000. Does anyone know of a good wakeboard boat in this price range. Looking for preferably a v-drive. I also want to use it for surfing. Any help would be appreciated. I found a 2001 centurion eclipse air warrior for $16000. Is this a decent boat?

Man that is a wide open question. You need to be much more specific as to what you are looking for and then you will find plenty of help.

Run away from that centurion. Terrible wakeboard wake...

Doesn't anybody know how to "search" anymore?:banghead:

Just to be helpful I'd say you should be able to find something in a v-drive for 25k that would work. Just don't limit it to 2003 or newer.

I'm guessing that is the bank limiting it. If he is 2003 or new they will loan 25K, if it's 2002 or older they will only loan 17K. Thats my guess on the OP's original message.

Ben I'm also in MN shoot me a Private message and I will help you out.

Well if its a 2003 or newer I could actually get a boat loan so payments would be reasonable. If its older then a 2003 I have to get a personal loan so payments each month are significantly more. So yea I'm kinda stuck with those numbers. Also going I'm going to school so I can't have too big of payments each month. But is the wake really that bad on that centurion eclipse?

Yes

There are some stripped down Centurion Avalanches for sale, 2003 for like 23k around... Not a bad boat, great surfing, decent wakeboarding

How would a 2002 Gekko G-3 V-Drive be for wakeboarding?

Wow, that looks like a winner to me Mike. Ballast, stereo, prop, everything you need.

I think I'm going to sell my Sanger V215 for around $28k. Only about 180 hours and it has a new stereo and it has about 2500 lbs of ballast.

So long as it wasn't overheated or lugged excessively, who cares?? These engines are work horses, not race engines... We beat the snot out of my buddies 88 Nautique. It must have 2k hours on it. 1800-2500 lbs and it keeps coming back for more!

Do a leak down test/compression check... its probably fine
