Electric wake winch help

Hi guys

Im really keen on using a second hand electric dc motor from a golf cart to drive a wake winch, however I am unsure of the specs needed etc for power required for a wake winch.

Please could anyone offer some advice as to what size dc motor would do the job and how to control the motor?

I know there are quite a few awesome electric inventions, but not give specifications on what motor was used and how to control the motor.

Regards

David

I don't know anything about them. But how much are the motors?

I would see if you can find a working golf cart cheap that maybe has body damage or cosmetics etc Charge that sucker up then take it to the pond jack up the rear end with something stable. Chain it to a tree and remove one tire from the rim. Get a roll of nylon rope 600 ft attach one end to the rim other end to a handle. Put your buddy in the cart while you get into a seated dock start position about 100ft out. Then give him or her the signal to floor it. This will give you a starting point was motor to weak to slow etc without spending to much money and it's kinda fun too. Then you can take the actual parts speed controls etc and morph your golf cart into a which. And of course you can get none stretch rope and cool handles etc

Head to http://www.alltraxinc.com/ . Good info where to start there for the golf cart market.
