Gald to see my local dealer in the number 3 spot!! Huge achievement as they are the only Canadian Dealer.

From my experience there is no wonder they recieved the award! Nothing but wow'n the customer since day one!!
www.buckeyemarine.com }

Boating Industry Names MasterCraft Dealers To Top 100
Nov 22, 2006

MasterCraft is pleased to announce and congratulate eleven of its dealers that have recently been named to Boating Industry’s Top 100 Dealer list – an achievement that further signifies MasterCraft’s and its dealer’s commitment to delivering a superior sales and service experience to its owners. In fact, this recognition comes on the tail end of another industry accolade that also named MasterCraft tops in customer service – the NMMA CSI Award which MasterCraft has received two years running.

“There has been a good amount lip service given to ‘customer service’ the last few years,” says Scott Crutchfield, Senior VP of Worldwide Sales. “But at the end of the day, it’s only companies like MasterCraft and its dealers that are recognized. The reason for that is simple – about seven years ago, we moved away from a volume-based model and transitioned to a behavior-based system that forces our dealers to look beyond just selling boats. In other words, we put our resources where are mouths are, setting up stringent guidelines for running a dealership, providing the best in continued education so they can effectively build the brand, offering unmatched incentives for execution and taking the time to truly support our dealers and owners. It sounds simple but it takes quite a bit of effort and innovation, which is our forte and why we continue to be recognized as top drawer by our industry.”

The Boating Industry Top 100 is a ranking that recognizes those marine dealers that are unsurpassed in over business operations, customer service, marketing and professionalism. This year the Boating Industry editorial staff received over 3000 nominations and reviewed over 400 applications to select the Top 100 – a group that collectively employs more than 6500 people, operates 357 retails locations across America and generates more than 2.88 billion in retail sales, nearly 10% of the entire marine market.

“While most industry awards are given to those dealers that sell the most boats, our Top 100 program is much more qualitatively focused,” said Matt Gruhn, Editor-in-Chief of Boating Industry, “Simply put, it helps level the playing field for all dealers and ultimately helps direct consumers to those dealers that can best deliver on the boat ownership dream.”

The 2006 Top MasterCraft Dealers:

Russell Marine, Alexander City, AL (#10 on Top 100)

Action Water Sports, Hudsonville, MI (#14 on Top 100)

Buckeye Marine, Bobcaygeon, ON (#28 on Top 100)

Liquid Sports Marine, Orlando, FL (#34 on Top 100)

Midwest MasterCraft, Crystal, MN (#35 on Top 100)

Boat Town, Inc., Austin, TX (#49 on Top 100)

Rayburn’s Marine World, Kelowna, BC (#55 on Top 100)

Utah Water Sports, South Jordan, UT (#67 on Top 100)

Rambo Marine, Hazel Green, AL (#73 on Top 100)

Water Sports Marine, Fenton, MI (#81 on Top 100)

MasterCraft Boats of Arizona, Inc., Phoenix, AZ (#83 on Top 100)

Only dealer in Ca. except for the one in Kelowna, and the one in Ontario, and there have to be more than 3 MC dealers in Canada. I see them boats on Vancouver island and all over the place up there. I don't see how stats like this mean anything unless you happen to live closest to that particular dealer. They don't like it when you try to buy from a dealer out of your territory, or pit one against the other over price.
I'd trust word of mouth, local and even internet BS before I'd put any creedence to an award given to the boat industry by the boat industry, or JD power or Powerboat magazine, or Waterski mag, etc. but hey, if it makes you feel better...

Isnt this internet?

I would think that it says alot about the dealer who has recieved this award. These are not BOUGHT AWARDS like others. A probably dealer has to send in all kinds of stuff. Financials. marketing programs, etc etc etc. You will probably see all of these MasterCraft dealers also winning CSi awards that are based on customer input...again not a bought award. Congrats to all of them....it would be interesting to see what other dealers made it that carry an inboard line.

Am I missing something here? Not sure what being a Mastercraft dealership has to do with any of this Maybe the fact that they applied for the award. I got this from their website.
Why you should apply:
Boating Industry’s four sister publications (Powerboat, Trailer Boats, Bass & Walleye Boats and Watercraft World) will feature 2-page ads telling more than 400,000 consumers to visit the Top 100 dealers.
Boating Industry will provide in-store and boat show-style merchandising opportunities for Top 100 dealers to add to their own marketing efforts.
Boating Industry will recognize you, one of the industry’s elite dealers, and make you visible to the marine universe through its print and online products and a PR campaign.
Boating Industry will promote your status as one of the elite dealers in the marine industry to your local media outlets.
Boating Industry will recognize you, one of the industry’s elite dealers, in front of the industry’s elite suppliers at a black-tie, invitation-only gala celebration at the Marine Retailers Association of America convention this November.
Because you ARE one of the elite, and you deserve to be recognized. Don’t let your competition make the list ahead of you.

Frequently asked questions regarding the 2005
Boating Industry Top 100 Dealers
The following are answers to some frequently asked questions regarding the Top 100.
Q: What is the Boating Industry Top 100?

As determined by Boating Industry magazine, the Top 100 is an annual ranking of dealerships that are unsurpassed in overall business operations, customer service, professionalism, and all the characteristics that go along with them.

Q: When will the Top 100 be published?

In Boating Industry’s special issue dedicated entirely to the rankings, distributed at the Marine Retailers Association of America convention in November and in our January issue. A complete ranking will be published, along with feature articles on many of the dealerships.

Q: How do I enter my company for consideration as a 2006 Top 100 dealership?

Fill out this application form and mail, email or fax it to Boating Industry magazine as directed below.

Q: What is the deadline for 2006 Top 100 applications?

July 28, 2006.

Q: What type of dealerships will be included?

The Top 100 will review applications from any and all North American-based dealerships.

Q: How will the Top 100 be selected?

Interested dealerships must complete all sections of the application form. Boating Industry magazine’s editorial staff will conduct in-depth follow-up research on each company. Your ranking will be determined through both the quantitative and qualitative data you provide.

Q: Will there be an awards ceremony?

Yes. There will be an invitation-only event, complete with a cocktail reception, sit-down dinner, entertainment, and an official countdown from 100 to No. 1 held November 15, 2006 at the MRAA Convention in Las Vegas. (Top 100 companies will be notified in advance of the convention and awards ceremony — although they will not find out where they ranked.)

Q: Does a dealer have to be a Marine Industry Certified Dealership in order to make the Boating Industry Top 100?

No. While we have added a question to this year's application that asks if dealerships are certified through this program (or any other programs), certification is not required to earn a spot on this year's list.

(Message edited by dadthedriver on November 28, 2006)

I dont think being a MC dealership has anything to do with it. Greg just put this thread up to show some MC dealers were selected. This is a forum that talks about inboard boats very frequently in its threads, so I think it was relevant. He made no suggestion that MC was selected and no other inboard MFg had not been. He was just glad to see the dealer he uses get an award. I think its funny as all these awards have come out in the last few months, Malibu owners seem to lead the charge in discrediting or tarnishing them. Seriously can all these awards be wrong? Or is it just everyone in the boating industry ie. NMMA, JD Powers, and WakeWorld Riders Choice, all hate Malibu and like MasterCraft? I dont think so. Bu owners and fans should not be questioning those who publish these awards, but should be questioning Malibu as why they have not been getting much in the award dept. lately.

(Message edited by woreout on November 29, 2006)
