Where to put the weight?
I have to get a bunch of fat sacs for the boat and need to figure out where they are going before i get them. Middle? Back of the boat? Or is weight just weight? What do i need for a big wake :D

It would help if you listed your boats year make model engine etc.....

99 air nautique gt 40 sorry

I would try and go 60/40 personally. Put 60% of the weight in the back of the boat and 40% in front, that is a great place to start and then adjust as needed because every boat/hull is a little different.

Is there any type of internal ballast in the boat? And do you tow to lake or is it stored there?

Here's what I would do, no I haven't ridden behind this boat, this is based on how we weight my friends 2000 SAN... since those boats have a steep wake, a 50/50 distribution is favorable... in a d/d for your app you could go 40/60 front/rear. I'd get 3 skykon 800s, the one in the bow, fill all the way, then put one on each side of the engine. You probably won't get them more than 600 or so next to the engine, maybe 650. So that's an exact 40/60 split if you figure 800 front 1300 mid/rear. Then if you have a drive and 2-3 ppl you won't be too far weighted in the rear since the sacs next to the engine are not all in back. You've also got to take prop into consideration when sacking out... but as laid out, 2100+ ppl will make a real nice wake in an air nautique...

Also remember, you want your overall distribution to be 40/60... so if you start with weight distributed 40/60 and all of a sudden your boy shows up with 5 more girls than you planned... you'll have.to empty some weight out of your rear sacs... or stuff ppl up front which if you run a big bag up front, probably won't have room...

I had a 2001 air nautique (which is a direct drive) Gt-40 motor and it had a ski locker up front in the walk through and a locker in the very back and 500lbs of ballast in the rear. I ran a 350lbs sack in the back locker (all that would fit), the same on the floor behind the engine same in the front locker and one on top of the locker and the 500lbs of ballast. It was a great wake. But a few yrs ago I got rid of that and got a Super air nautiqe '02 and run about 3000lbs in that and that's where it's at if you want a real big wake

Oh and if you got the $$$ for it Fly High will make you a fat sac to any measurements you want

its a DD... your options on placement are somewhat limited.... throw your bags out on the floor of the boat wherever they fit... start filling... and see what happens :-)
