Wetsounds X Kit- Alternatives?

Has anyone figured out how to build a X-kit without being gouged for 70 bucks for a metal plate and bolts?

If you buy the tower speakers without clamps, it comes with the X-Mount.

I am converting over from a 2006 VLX with titan tower (needed clamps) to a 07 VLX with illusion X tower...
