Canon T2i or T1i

Looking to upgrade from my Canon xti. Anybody have experience with the new T2i or have suggestions on the benefits of getting it over saving some coin and getting the T1i? I've been around photography for a number of years and would consider myself a novice/intermediate user. I don't toy around a lot with metering modes though, so I'm not sure how much the manual metering options of the T2i would benefit me over the T1i. Also, the full 1080 video is nice but with an HV20 I'm not sure how much video I'll shoot with this camera.

Any tips would be helpful between the two. Another thing I'm trying to factor in cost wise is having to change from CF cards to SDHC...but I know memory isn't that costly these days.

Thanks!

T2i hands down. The video is worth the extra coin. It is the same as the 7D and is awesome.

Not sure since you you're getting it mainly for photo, but if you plan on doing video, the T2i is much better since it can record at 60fps vs only 30fps for the T1i. Makes a big difference when you want to do some slo-mos.

Right on, right here. My t1i SUCKS for slo-mo video, i can't stand it. If you're using it just for pictures, i think you'd be fine going with the T1i, it takes some really nice photos. the t2i is an extra 3 megapixels at 18MP, and it holds the same sensor as the 7D, which is definitely a step up from the T1i sensor, but being a "novice/intermediate" photog like you said, I don't think this would make a noticeable difference if you wanted to save money.

Yeah, I'm not sure if the extra video perks are worth it if I'm not really going to be using it for video. I'm thinking it might be better to save some cash and get the T1i. It's hard to turn down the latest though!

A Nikon D90 replacement is due this year. I am looking forward to that.
