The beginning of the end

What a bunch of morons. No matter what side you are on, its obvious the only real answer is to make the hard decisions and balance the budget. I feel it needs to be a compromise from both sides, but I'm sure all of you will tell me how the government can cut all services without raising taxes :)

I personally value having a military to protect my freedom, public safety to be there if I need them and teachers to teach our children..

This was always going to be the outcome. Automatic cuts won't start until 2013 so that gives them another year to dither. This was all posturing ahead of the 2012 election. When it gets right up against a real deadline look for the minimally acceptable deal for both sides - that way they can blame each other for the "Bad Deal" they both just cut.

The only compromises in Washington are not compromises at all, but rather the socialists winning. For example, socialists propose spending $500 billion more next year. Neocons say let's cut spending by some amount next year. A true compromise would be to keep spending the same. A "Washington compromise" is what always happens, and spending might increase "only" $250 billion next year. Any "compromise" in Washington means every one of us loses. Both socialists and necons are the problem, the solution is to cut spending (military, welfare/entitlements, and others) and cut taxes (for everyone).

As for having a military to protect your freedom... You're a funny man. Your government and your military are taking away your freedoms more every day, and the more money you give them the faster they'll take what freedom you have left away. Freedoms I Wish the Military Were Defending

Ideology like yours is the problem. Ever hear of Dave Grossman's analogy of sheep, wolf & sheepdog? You sound like a sheep

In case you have not had the privilege. Sheep is not intended to be derogatory. Since you fear the sheepdogs and refuse to believe that there are wolves in this world, that clearly makes you a sheep

Cory has Alex Jones' show on repeat. No wonder he sounds like a kook.

I think you have that sheep analogy a bit backwards. Those who blindly go along with the masses, happily giving up your freedoms and violating the rioghts of others are the sheep. Some more reading... A Nation Of Sheep

Jeremy, I have never listened to Alex Jones' show.

Unfortunately, that's what the majority of BOTH sides of the Congress and the House of Reps as well as the current Admin. and the Big Banks want us to do: argue like a buncha kids on the playground about what's fair and what's not. the real thing to do is step up to them and make good on what's gotta be done: get them out of there by a Redress of Grievences, rid ourselves of the Fed and start fresh. Rotate the stock so to speak.

all the wolves (the aforementioned groups) are only arguin' over who to have FIRST for lunch.

all the wolves (the aforementioned groups) are only arguin' over who to have FIRST for lunch. so the question is, how long are we gonna continue to let them?!?
