I am currently riding a Hyperlite State....love the ride but it feels heavy in the air. Which board(any brand) feels the lightest in that range of boards...intermediate to pro???

DC

the LF watson is pretty light

twakess 01-25-2006 7:03 PM

I am on a Watson also but the is the Absolute 135 Platinum is lightest board I have ridden to date. Oh ya and I rode a few boards last year.

The Premier is the lightest board i have ever owned and ridden. But it will ride nothing like the State. The State is a very nice board -- you may want to try the Substance -- very nice, it's what i have now and do not plan on changing anytime soon...

Premier? The 2006? I rode the 2005 and it felt like riding a piece of plywood. I guess Danny Harf can make any board look good.

i used to have a core wake board... and it was amazingly light, i loved it... then it snapped in half after i did a tantrum, haha maybe the reason it was so light was because it wasn't strong enough

eternalshadow 01-25-2006 8:16 PM

hahaha I'm with you Leo. I found the Substance and 3DS both to feel pretty similar, and not heavy.

partydock17 01-25-2006 8:50 PM

GB Brisco, very light weight.

Wish they made it in other sizes though...

Danny T.

Something that is comparable and you would really like to ride is the LF Omega. It is pretty friggin light and has good consistency but still poppy....basically it is a mix between the evolution and the substance.

(Message edited by iamnathanhudson on January 26, 2006)

I've been thinking of going LF Watson. I love that State ride, but the bigger my airs have gotten, the more the thing feels like I have concrete shoes on. I'm not really after more than a much lighter feel in the air....the Watson being a pro model, would it be harder to edge, break loose, or slide?? Or should I try that Omega?

guido 01-26-2006 3:49 PM

yeah, Roam my be the lightest if you can actually ride it (takes those that are hardly mortal to kill it like Callen on one of those things).

Check out the Fish or Substance. Both are super light. I also like the feel of the Absolute Platinum. They feel light and snappy. The Pure is good and thin too.

innov8 01-26-2006 3:54 PM

The CWB Absolute Platnium is 6.6 lbs as well as the Trancend Platnium 138 6.6lbs. Thats a light board.

mbrown 01-26-2006 5:36 PM

Absolute Platinum, super light, much lighter than my old Premier. And loose!

rmcronin 01-27-2006 1:47 PM

liquid force seems very light compared to hyperlite. I ride a Parks and a LF Balance. A certain CWB pro calls them hyper"heavy"

ivyrider 01-27-2006 2:31 PM

I have an 05 LF Substance 138. Its pretty light. When ever it gets handled on the boat, and moved in and outta the racks, most people comment on the weight of it. Plus, if feels great on.

antbug 01-27-2006 3:09 PM

I with Evan on this one. The Fish is really light. Smaller board = Lighter board.

OK, I may have spoke to soon, the new Watson is super light as well. Just saw one, very nice board.

zcarnage 01-28-2006 11:03 PM

I just had the digital scale up front the other day and happened to jot some interesting figures down... including fins and mounting hardware 05 Parks 140 = 9lb 11oz, 05 Premier 141 = 9lb 4oz... cheers to oversea's manufacturing... I was spoiled and rode a 143 Balsa Battail last summer... 7lb 4oz with an extra layer of glass to get the flex pattern I wanted... (blem board!)

aceofspades 01-29-2006 11:46 AM

isnt the L7 core supposed to be lighter than the biolite core? So the 06 hyperlite boards would be lighter than the 05's

da_moose 02-04-2006 12:43 PM

nothing rides like a 5 lb Carbon Fiber MOOSE
Old school,coming to your school
