Upgrade board from CWB Ride 63"
I am currently riding a CWB Ride 63" (red board). I am 6', 200lbs. I used to ocean surf a lot but recently moved to the foothills. This is my second season wakesurfing and I picked it up quickly because of my ocean surf experience.
I believe it's time to get a more high performance board, so I wanted to run this by you experts. I can surf the wave as long as I want and do cut backs, but can't seem to get the board to do much more than that. I have been surfing it as a twin and that helps a bit, but I can't get it to do a 360. I think the rails might be too hard, or maybe it's just me. The Ride 63 is not very thick and appears to be built more like a skim board. Are the boards which are built more like ocean surf boards that much better for wakesurfing? If so, what boards would you recommend for my size and skill? I would like to stay under $500 if possible and used is not out of the question. I surf behind my friend's MC X-30. It throws a half decent wave, but it's not huge by any means. I would like to be able to do more tricks like a 360 and possibly a little air off the lip. |
Larry you are in luck. You will be able to demo a lot of different boards. This area has access to demo boards from many companies. I have several high performance boards as does a local dealer. wakesurfer@mac.com
