I am starting to plan the installation of my ballast system. I plan to have 4 pumps and would like to have 2 on each side 2 behind observers seat and 2 in the battery compartment. I am concerned about how much hydrogen the batteries will produce. I have 2.65 cubic feet of air space in the compartment and a vent at the top that opens to just in front of the windshield so while under way it would push the hydrogen back into the compartment. I am running 2 group 34 blue tops
with the second one isolated using a large relay so only one charges.

options
a) put all 4 pumps under observers seat.

b) run a hose from the battery vents to some where else...??

c) put a vent in the battery compartment door and install a blower.

d) do nothing and don't worry about it.

all thoughts and opinions are appriciated...

Used sealed batteries and you won't have to worry about it.

Sealed batteries still vent hydrogen. I am using optimas which are sealed but they still have vents.

Sorry I should have stated that sealed batteries don't vent enough to worry about it, atleast with only two.
