Affordable Care Just Got More Expensive

Seven million people are estimated to not have insurance after the Affordable Care Act is mandated in 2014. Too bad more politician--and voters--do not understand that a company has to make a profit in order to stay in business. http://healthcare.dmagazine.com/2013...-to-cut-costs/

Sure seems like the over all strategy is to completely ruin the existing system and force things into a single payer system. My family of 3 our costs this year have gone up over $7,000 and we get way less coverage for that. Push my wife out and then force us to pay more to cover her and that continues the strategy. Can't imagine that the folks who voted this mess into office had any informed idea of what the legacy will be. What a mess.

I wish I was only paying $7000 per year. I'm paying $1500 per month for a family of 4 at Kaiser

That's not my total cost, that's my increased cost for this year.

damn. Can't wait to see how much my premiums are gonna go up.

Read the story and the story it linked to and neither really suggest that this is an ACA issue but rather an issue of corps getting stingier. I know at my 50-employee shop that our healthcare costs have doubled in the last five years. DOUBLED. Our workforce is aging and we've had a few big hits to the plan, and that's what happens when costs are out of control.

I'm not saying ACA is a solution because it ignores cost controls. But it's extremely short sighted to think that the only reason employers are cutting back on healthcare benefits is the ACA. Costs have increased at an insane rate for the last two decades.

Wow.. Thats ridiculously expensive.. Do you have preexisting condition that affect your premium?

I was able to obtain pretty inexpensive health for a family of three here..

Nope, we are all healthy. My wife is a teacher in Placer County and her dedictube is $800 per month for Kaiser and it goes up at least 15-20% each year. I also have a small business and have seen the premiums go up by over 100% the last 10 years. The workers deductibles have also gone up It's crazy.
