exhaust tips
I've noticed some boats have extended exhaust tips. Do they help with exhaust noise while surfing? I know I could do the Fresh Air Exhaust kit but I don't think I want to go that far. I was just thinking that a tip pointed down would help some. Where can I buy them?

bought mine from bakes for $285 I think they want $205 each now but they do work great they reduce noise and if submerged reduce exhaust fumes but not as good as a FAE
|
Those exhaust tips pictured above I also have on my boat. They have internal baffles that reduce noise.
|
yep they are the Malibu silent rider tips

What on earth is hanging between your rudder and prop?

pics were taken while I was doing all the winter mods seemed like I worked on the transom forever I installed the blade exhaust tips and underwater lights forgot to remove one of the ergo mats for the pic here is one without
|
So you noticed quite a bit of noise reduction with the tips?
|
Haha, gotcha. I thought it was some horrible idea for a crazy prop protection device.

it is still amazing to me how quiet the boat is now the best stereo upgrade I have made and they look nice as well. I should also add I have the merc. black scorpion engine and installed them in my centurion so I would think they would work on any newer wake boat super easy install

Harold,
I'm confused, the boat in the first pics has metal flake for the bottom and the boat in the lower pics looks to have white gel coat. Is it the same boat or am i just seeing it wrong? |
Looks like silver flake to me, look at the side of the boat. It does look a little white under the platform.

the stripe around the bottom is silver metal flake same boat in all the pics here is one from a different angle
|
That's a big anchor you have there,
|
In the last picture I can see that the rubber flappers look like they get removed when pipes are installed. If so what keeps water from going up the exhaust when backing?
|
the design of the internal baffle built into the tip prevents water from surging back up the exhaust and requires no flapper
