wakeworld 11-02-2009 4:12 PM

As we work on our new logo and apparel that we'll be selling, I'd like to get everyone's feedback on the type of clothing that YOU WOULD ACTUALLY BUY FOR YOUR OWN USE. Please don't give any opinions unless it's something you would actually purchase and wear. I just don't want to end up with a bunch of "super pimp" stuff that nobody buys.

I'm all about keeping it simple, so please let me know what types and styles of clothing you'd consider purchasing. In the past we have offered tees, long sleeved tees, hoodies (no zipper), women's tanks and Flex Fit hats. What else should we add into the mix? Should we remove anything?

Colors are another question. We used to do all-white merchandise, but this last time around I changed it up to navy and gray merchandise. I thought white was kind of plain, but I think it actually did better than the colored stuff. What colors do you prefer to wear?

Thanks for your help!!

bear 11-02-2009 4:19 PM

BLACK

pnichols 11-02-2009 4:28 PM

Long sleeve tees for sure, and hoodies with zippers. Navy blue works good for me.

stephan 11-02-2009 4:36 PM

I think it would be cool if you made onesies and mini tees for the little rippers. C'mon Dave, we believe children are the future!

wakeworld 11-02-2009 4:37 PM

We've actually done that in the past as well, so that's another possibility. Thanks for the reminder.

extremeisaac 11-02-2009 4:37 PM

I personally liked the Tank Jerseys with your name on the back.. I agree with blacks

wakeworld 11-02-2009 4:40 PM

Tank jerseys will be a custom order we do at the beginning of the year. They won't be a normal stocking item. Judging on the reaction to those in 2008, I'm confident we'll sell a lot of them!

juniorhawk 11-02-2009 4:41 PM

High quality, zipped hoodies.

PERIOD.

I LIVE in them.
Summer, before riding and after (I treat them like a towel).

Fall, I do chores and chill out watching football in them.

Winter, along with soft sneakers - they are post-snowboarding comfort gear.

Spring, perfect time to wear one with nothing underneath. Exact perfect climate for a zipped hoodie.

Rinse - repeat.

Nice, zipped hoodies. Design on back & front and be original, please! Not just a logo on the chest and the same thing enlarged on the back. Go wild. High quality. Count me in.

Example (just saying that stuff like this can be done):
http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/freestyleshop_2079_67163841

lizzyb 11-02-2009 4:49 PM

Agreed on the shirts and onesies - we loved the shirt we had for Matthew.

I prefer white and black, not big on gray or navy. I like the hoodie idea, also.

wakedad33 11-02-2009 4:57 PM

Black and gray, Zipped hoodies, & long sleeve Tee's

wake77 11-02-2009 5:04 PM

How about a Wakeworld speedo?

I personally prefer plainer T's. If there is some outrageous picture on front or back or both (ie, Ed Hardy) I will not under any circumstances wear one. A long sleeve (nothing on the sleeves) with a simple logo, would be my preference.

cbk 11-02-2009 5:10 PM

^^^^Agreed.

I am all about simplicity. I have always kept our shop tees very simple, a logo on the front and maybe a small one on the back or vice versa. The thing to keep in mind is that most will only wear them to the lake or lounging around, so there's no need for a premium type t shirt.

dakid 11-02-2009 5:15 PM

hoodies w/ NO zippers
long sleeve tees

pucktowake 11-02-2009 5:30 PM

Maybe like thin knit hats those are cheep and awesome good for cold weather

bendow 11-02-2009 6:04 PM

Simple hoodies

Not a fan of gray and navy at all...like black

A black jersey would make me smile...with white lettering

bchesley 11-02-2009 6:10 PM

Black and or navy blue zip hoodie for sure.

silvermustang35 11-02-2009 6:16 PM

Agreed, if It were a small logo in the front in the middle or on the left chest and a bigger logo on the back, maybe with this years ghost or something would be pretty cool. I would rock it on the lake and out and about...
Nate, let me know when you order some shirts, I def. need to buy some for me and Kathy, ya'll rock...

wstr01 11-02-2009 6:21 PM

Black hoodie, no zip.

Black FF hat

Black beanie (for lack of a better word) that is actually long enough to go over the ears completely.

Less is more T's. Black (or tie dyed )

badluck 11-02-2009 6:31 PM

black or blue hoodie no zip

rio_sanger 11-02-2009 6:33 PM

White long sleeve Ts

Black no zip hoodies

wakeworld 11-02-2009 6:34 PM

I want to paint it black! You guys are depressing me!

lives2wake 11-02-2009 6:41 PM

I never buy white...I'm a slob. Too easy to stain.

all_board_rider 11-02-2009 7:21 PM

Black or Grey Sweat pants!! they are the best during fall riding, throw em on over your boardshorts when you leave the house, where them until you are strapping into your board...as well as other ocasions....id definitely buy WW sweats

csswake3 11-02-2009 7:48 PM

Any chance we could get wakeworld stickers in other colors besides white and black??

mofreestyle 11-02-2009 7:52 PM

Black hoodies without zippers.

hfpesko 11-02-2009 8:05 PM

I know it would be expensive but something like a Fox Sasquatch hoody with the furry inside?

http://shop.foxracing.com/ecomm/AutoForward.do?forward=home.pagedef#aforward=asyn& amp;proId=22001&cid=373&cname=Zip&proN umber=45931&imgName=45931001F.jpg

rc005 11-02-2009 8:08 PM

flexfit hats.. i like white and black.. i like the plain idea for the logo on the shirts and stuff but its too small on the front and i would move the wording on the back to run head to toe on like the side of the shirt.. just looks too cookie cutter to me..

vin 11-02-2009 8:32 PM

I'd be down for the sweat pants. No zipper on the hoodies, (they wash funny). Beanies with a bill would be awsome too.

bear 11-02-2009 8:45 PM

I would agree I like the flexfit hats, long sleeve t's and short sleeve as well, but as already said the logo on the front is just to small if it was a little bigger I'd be in.

jarrod 11-02-2009 8:52 PM

Black zip up hoodies. Hate the pull overs.

I see a trend here. A lot of guys with no hair prefer the pullovers (non-zip)!

westsidarider 11-02-2009 9:38 PM

^^^^^^^ X2. would love me a black zip up hoody

dakid 11-02-2009 9:42 PM

yep, i prefer non-zip cause everyone knows a zipper on a hoodie is a leading cause of hairloss.

westsidarider 11-02-2009 10:15 PM

like you need to worry about that joe

dakid 11-02-2009 10:23 PM

cause i kept wearing my lf zip-up hoodie!

wakeworld 11-02-2009 11:16 PM

Jason, I'm confused. How can the logo on the front be too small when we haven't even come up with a design yet? What are you referring to?

dirwoody 11-03-2009 5:20 AM

I would love some sweats
A wind breaker type jacket possibly. I know when I'm on the water and it's cool out, all I have to do is get out of the wind and I'm a lot warmer, then I ride, and my jacket has been stolen by my crew because they were cold in their hoodie!

wakereviews 11-03-2009 5:21 AM

I'd be in for a hoodie and long sleeve tee. (and vinyl die cut stickers of course) Can't wait to see the new logo!

mbsteez 11-03-2009 6:11 AM

zip hoods in kelly green! or nice sweats with NO elastic on the bottom.

rvh3 11-03-2009 6:17 AM

I'll second nice sweats with no elastic on bottom.

eubanks01 11-03-2009 7:10 AM

The kids shirts are awesome. My baby girl loved hers!

pearsonville 11-03-2009 7:19 AM

Black Longsleeve Tees & Zip Hoodies / for winter
Athletic Heather Color for Short Sleeves.

mc_x15 11-03-2009 7:35 AM

The Flex Fit 210 hats. They fit great and you dont have to order a million sizes like on the New Era hats. The 210 hats look just like new era, just flex fit.

jayroe65 11-03-2009 7:37 AM

Jarret she is Def going to be a wakeboarder.

mkrueger313 11-03-2009 7:41 AM

Tie dye!!!

rukie 11-03-2009 8:00 AM

I would purchase either kind of sweatshirt, I'm not picky. It would be great to offer some bigger sizes. The couple I bought in the past were boarderline too small and went straight to the wife/ kid after one wash. Then again, I like to eat

buffalow 11-03-2009 8:31 AM

Anything bigger than an XL. Support the big dogs!

ttrigo 11-03-2009 9:55 AM

hoodies, no zip.
plain t's.
adjustable hats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
more kid stuff. onesies, t's.

rio_sanger 11-03-2009 11:43 AM

That is interesting J-Rod, I prefer no zip and have no hair, I think you're on to something there...

braap13 11-03-2009 12:05 PM

Not clothing, but a wakeworld floating keychain would be nice.

psudy 11-03-2009 12:25 PM

I will second the hats.

dirwoody 11-03-2009 12:38 PM

Floating key chain would be sick
As would a regular keychain

nbigger 11-03-2009 12:43 PM

If you had a zip up hoodie with the furry liner in black I would buy one I lived in a volcom one. I like the seperated pocket so my cell phone does not shoot out of one side and into the lake. I think a long sleeve with wake world down one arm would be cool. Also a heater shirt would be cool if you can get them.

hawkeye7708 11-03-2009 12:54 PM

I think a zipped Hoodie would be pretty sweet with the WakeWorld logo rough sewn, or screen printed big across the front and split by the zipper. I would dig some sweet board shorts too. And jerseys again for sure!

eternalshadow 11-03-2009 1:08 PM

I'm a fan of the zip up hoodies, pants without bottom elastics, long and short sleeve t's, beenie long enough to pull over my ears but not long enough it can cover my nose, and a logoized belt buckle!

nuckledragger 11-03-2009 1:12 PM

I second the boardshorts too. Dave, I know someone who could make them for you too!!!

showmedonttellme 11-03-2009 1:13 PM

As mentioned above, a floating keychain would be cool. And have you done Flags, David? WW flags would be cool!!

trinab 11-03-2009 1:22 PM

Black and grey zip up hoodies

wakeworld 11-03-2009 1:27 PM

Keychains are a great idea. Malibu used to have a neoprene bracelet type of keychain a while back and I've been trying to find a supplier of those ever since. I haven't seen them anywhere, but they were very cool.

We'll also do cozies, of course. Who would buy a bottle cozie and how much would you pay? I know there are some expensive ones with zippers and cheap ones without bottoms, so I need to get an idea as to what you guys would want.

hawkeye7708 11-03-2009 1:31 PM

Can I toss bottle openers into the mix?

ttrigo 11-03-2009 2:08 PM

can coozies would be an easy sell to me. I would probably get a half dozen or so. the bottle coozies I would possibly get a couple of.

dirwoody 11-03-2009 2:08 PM

Cire WW boardshorts.........Sick

pnichols 11-03-2009 2:16 PM

I don't think the bottle coozies will sell as good as the can coozies. Can't have glass at the lake.

11-03-2009 2:35 PM

Fitted (new era) hats, maybe more color and logo/design options on the other stuff (tees/hoodies). the current stuff is pretty bland...

dakid 11-03-2009 2:42 PM

no new era hats pls. we're not all from the 909.

wakeworld 11-03-2009 2:44 PM

Don't worry. No fitted hats will be in the line. There's no way I can afford to carry multiple sizes of hats. We just don't sell that many. Same goes for some of the lined hoodie suggestions. I don't see that happening.

buzz_grande 11-03-2009 2:51 PM

Boardshorts would be great! Definately in for a few of those.

Some new can coozies. Mine are years old but still going strong.

Always up for new shirts/hoodies, etc. You know us.

Kim says to put in her vote for boy-beater girl's tanks. Not sure of colors, but she said she will take about 30 of them.

wakeworld 11-03-2009 3:34 PM

So far, this seems to be the consensus...

For sure...
- Tees, long-sleeve tees and hoodies in black or white. I think you're pretty split on whether or not they should be zippered.
- Hats - Flex Fit with logo
- Women's top (boy beater or spaghetti tank)
- Beanies - black with logo
- Baby/infant onesies and tees
- Cozies - multiple colors with logo
- Stickers - die cut logo
- Floating keychain
- Rider down flag

Possibly...
- Boardshorts
- Sweat pants
- Rash guard
- Bottle opener
- Bottle cozies
- Towel

Am I missing anything? Are black and white on all the clothing going to make everyone happy?

mendo247 11-03-2009 3:59 PM

Sounds good! I prefer blue on the clothes but could deal with black or white lol We use those coozies everywhere we go, definetly a favorite...

bcrider 11-03-2009 4:49 PM

Not clothing but how about a WW Towel or something for people to wipe there boat down with. Or a WW spare tire cover.

blastmaster 11-03-2009 6:49 PM

Spaghetti strap tops for the chicks. My wife would fill one out quite well.
Rick

mastercraftboarder 11-03-2009 6:55 PM

SWEAT PANTS!!!!!!!!!!! Grey or Black with WW running down the leg or somthing alike
Beanies as well

rio_sanger 11-03-2009 7:01 PM

Wakeworld pajamas!

Wakeworld underwear!! ...

11-03-2009 7:41 PM

Things I would definitely buy:
Regular sweatshirt
Hoodie sweatshirt
flexfit hat
Lanyard
Boardshorts

Things I probably wouldn't buy:
T-shirt
Long sleeve shirt
sweatpants
beanie
bottle opener
pretty much everything else mentioned.

wakeworld 11-03-2009 7:57 PM

Ok, I added some kind of women's top to the list. Everybody ask their girl what they'd prefer; a tank top or boy beater.

wakerider111 11-03-2009 8:15 PM

*Board Shorts

liljohn 11-03-2009 8:17 PM

My girl says a sarong. I will agree with her because they double as big banners or very big flags. hell id buy one just to hang in the garage.

epic1 11-03-2009 8:33 PM

simple colors. No bright green or rasta(no offense) I like zipper hoodies, but it is not a deal breaker. Flex fit hats are pimp. I like the "new era style" flex fits ie. the taller fronts and straight bills. I know it is all add space, but I do not pimp gear with .com on it. looks like free give out stuff to me. WakeWorld is enough with a logo better. MORE JERSEYS.

ferral 11-03-2009 9:24 PM

I'd buy a zipped hoodie (or no zip if that's what you go with), long sleeve tee, and board shorts. I also love the onsie idea somebody mentioned, little girl is on the way.

duffmangt 11-03-2009 10:03 PM

+1 to no gear with .com on it. looks like i got it as a hand out and if im paying for something i dont want it to look like that.

i like zip but could do pull over hoodies, is there a chance to just having both since theres a huge response for both?

imo i dont want a black hoodie with the ww logo on the left chest. to plain and boring to me, want something a little more eye grabbing

rukie 11-04-2009 7:58 AM

XXL or XXXXXXXL, please. Larger sizes, even if they cost more.
