new hybrid board
I am looking for a new board, would like to get a hybrid/flex for softer landings (back problems). I ride 100 percent behind the boat, mostly w2w. I am riding a lf witness right now, really like the board but I want something with more forgiving landings. I rode a lf Ennen hybird before the witness but did not like the model fin set up (too small) on the Ennen and don't like to ride with a center fin. I am looking at a couple boards, but am up for suggestions.
LF Watson Hybrid LF Bob (looks like it should have more flex then a standard board) |
Go with a Slingshot Recoil. Trust me. It is nice, soft landings. I am riding the LF Shane Hybrid and the Recoil is a lot softer of a landing.
Edit: I just looked at your profile and it says you already ride the Slingshot Recoil. What is the deal? |
Yea I used to ride an old recoil, didn't like not having any bottom features. Has this changed? My recoil also had ss binding and was a heavy set up. I was looking at 2013 Lyman.

If I were you I would take a good look at Rathy's AR1 or Brenton Priestley's BP. They are a very similar shape and the AR will be slightly stiffer than the BP. That being said the AR has a decent amount of flex with its very thin profile. I haven't got to ride the BP but the AR lands incredibly soft, it doesn't look like it would but it really lands well.

I ride the LF Shane hybrid and love it. Recently demo'd the AR1 and strongly considered switching. Super soft landings and great pop. Go demo the AR1 if you get a chance. It's not a hybrid, but it is as forgiving as it gets from a board that still has tons of pop.

I will look into the AR1, but still think I would like something with a little flex. I think I have narrowed down my picks to lf watson hybrid or slingshot (kine or hooke). Has anyone rode one or both of these board behind the boat? Differences (Pop landings)?
