Looking for some feedback from other Supra owners who have the Roswell push button swivel board racks. The internal lock mechanism on ours is beginning to fail causing the racks to occasionally swing out on their own. I understand this is a common problem. I’ve contact Roswell (they’ve been great) and was told for people with this issue, they are switching out the push button swivels to their newer S.I. manual swivel.

These - http://www.roswellwakeair.com/content/view/41/71/

Has anyone switched out to these? If so, what are your impressions, do they work well, etc? Seems a better design IMO.

I traded mine for the S.I. Manual version. They work fine as long as you remember to put the pin in once you are done with the rack.

Yep the Manual version work great. Get them and you will not have to worry about the problems anymore. I also give props to Roswell for standing behind the product.

Roswell just swapped my push-buttons for the pin-system last week after I had the same issue. We got to try them out over the weekend -- everybody much preferred the pins. They are much more user-friendly, and feel sturdier. Ditto on Diggs' props, huge thank you to Roswell for standing behind us on this.

Do you have to personally call rosswell to get these switched out or do you go through the dealer? Just so happens one of my push swivel racks just went out this past weekend a few times doing what you guys have mentioned.

Like everyone else, the pin style work great. I really liked the push button, but they do seem to haev a high failure rate. There was too much "play" in the actual locking mechanism.
|
Awesome - thanks for the feedback everyone.

I have the old three push pin set up and mine started getting stuck. I took them apart and cleaned all the parts. I put some anti-seize on all parts when putting them back together and no more problems. It was quick and easy. Worth a shot

I called Roswell last week and they said the pin swivel racks are on backorder. They're gonna call me back when they get some, and swap out the ones I currently have. Mine have the black rubber pushbutton on bottom and are getting very hard to push in. They also have a lot of play and you have to put the pin it while under power. That's a big annoyance to me.... Hopefully they'll call soon.

I would caution people to check the tightness of the bolt that screws in from the bottom of the pin-system swivel racks. We found a 3-4 inch bolt inside our boat last week while cleaning up and it turned out to be from the swivel rack.

Good looking out Mike. I checked mine this Spring and made sure they were still tight.
