DAAYYYYY-YYAAAAMMMM!!!! LOL. That is SICK!!

jixxxer 06-02-2008 2:30 PM

Awesome!!!!! How about a list of what u have in there.

srh00z 06-02-2008 2:34 PM

Nice, give us a rundown on the system.

ericlee 06-02-2008 2:52 PM

Holy Crap....I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy jealous of that setup....Give us a list!!!!

hamkj 06-02-2008 2:57 PM

Sorry guys... I doubt he will respond to your questions... he can't hear you!

echo_parker 06-02-2008 3:09 PM

I am obligated to running Kicker.

1-15" L7 amp.1- ZX1500.1
6-8" L7 amp. 3- ZX1500.1
4 Wetsounds Pro 80's amp. 2- ZX850.2 ( I know it is overkill on power but, they are tuned way down.)
WS-420
4-sets of Kicker KS 6.5 amp. 1- ZX850.4
I am having the KS speakers replaced as we speak with Kicker SS components.
the KS speakers did not sound right for the caliber of the rest of the system.

4 Kinetik 2400 Batteries.
Pioneer DEH-7000BT head unit.
Pioneer marine controller.

FYI if you are considering using Pioneer head units, you can only use 1 marine controller with LCD display. I bought 2 and after they cut the hole on the transom they found out Pioneer head units only allow 1 controller. You could use up to 5 controllers if they do not have a display.

burbanized 06-02-2008 3:40 PM

HOLY SHNIZZ!

That is a great sound system I really like what you did with those six 8" subs and the 15 under the dash looks killer

ponyh8r 06-02-2008 4:05 PM

is that kid deaf yet? Nice system. Are all the subs ported?

turbonine 06-02-2008 4:08 PM

Your windshield looks tinted in your profile. Is it 35%?

echo_parker 06-02-2008 4:20 PM

No the subs are not ported. Should they be? I don't run the stereo when my son is in the boat.

38% I took it off, it was a terrible job. I am going to get it done over.

Thank you for all the compliments.

05mobiuslsv 06-02-2008 4:33 PM

Insane, you did that all yourself. Nice work. How does it sound .

h20jnky 06-02-2008 4:53 PM

wow... nutzzz?

cody_08_lsv 06-02-2008 5:09 PM

siiiiiccccckkkk~! but hopefully the 15 l7 is ported!

OK what year model boat is this? it has the 08 tower but the 07 dash with 08 lcd buttons?? please describe y its like this!

05mobiuslsv 06-02-2008 5:13 PM

It's the 08 247.

my_malibu 06-02-2008 5:14 PM

damn nice job
got pics of the amps??

cody_08_lsv 06-02-2008 5:17 PM

ooohh ok sorry on my last post I thought it was a 23!

watson_134_lf 06-02-2008 6:18 PM

explain to me how you mounted those subs under the seat? i wanted to do something like that, but i didnt think it was plausible. if you have any pics of the box you made for them, or how you mounted them, id love to see. thats probably the sickest system ive seen in a boat!

cavlxenvy 06-02-2008 6:32 PM

solobarics are louder if ported but sound cleaner if they are in a closed box.

Nice set up man.

cavlxenvy 06-02-2008 6:35 PM

Can you even open the seat lids above the solobarics? I wanted to do something similar but realized that the seats hit the grills and you can only open about half way.

crushing76 06-02-2008 6:49 PM

(singing) DID YOU EVER KNOOWWWWW THAT YOU'RE MY HEEEROOOOOOOOOO!!!!?????

I'm gonna have to request more pics!

echo_parker 06-02-2008 7:40 PM

Once the boxes were made They were sent to Line-X for 2 layers for strength and water proofing.

Once the boxes were made the were fiberglassed to the kick panel of the boat.

I gave up opening those 2 seats. They open about 2 feet and are pretty useless.

I also had templates of the back hatches made and used 1" MDF and had them Line-X for the additional weight.

Once I get pics of the amps I will post them, although you can only see 2 amps.

I had a amp rack fabricated out of metal that is tucked in the cubby. There are 5 amps mounted on it. The rack was designed to be shock absorbant.

cavlxenvy 06-02-2008 7:50 PM

How is your charging system/ECM holding up with all those electronics? I know Malibu's are real finicky with amperage and you cannot really upgrade the alternator.

ndavis03 06-02-2008 7:59 PM

That setup is insane. Nice job.

loudsubz 06-02-2008 8:12 PM

PROPS!

DIY is the way to go, if your have the skills and patients. Cudos to you.

how much did you spend on it when all said and done?

echo_parker 06-02-2008 8:38 PM

Sorry to mislead you I did not install the system myself. I got all the equipment from Kicker and they recommended a really good stereo shop.

I don't have time nor the wiring skills to pull off a system like this.

The system is completely independent from the boat. I can drain the batteries and it does not affect the boat.

pdqwrx 06-02-2008 11:40 PM

Great looking install....

kinger 06-03-2008 7:22 AM

What stereo shop, I am in Pasadena, CA I am looking for a good stereo shop?

Thanks

zleartsu 06-03-2008 9:55 AM

So this may be a dumb question, but does the system through off your wake at all?

nwsjake10 06-03-2008 9:57 AM

Zach, I kind of wondered the same thing. I mean 8 subs on the port side, probably weighs it down some-what. And with 4 batteries, even more weight right?

zleartsu 06-03-2008 11:25 AM

Don't get me wrong is a sick set up! one of the bigges I have ever seen! Just wondering!

jv210 06-03-2008 12:12 PM

Zach, I can say I have a LSV with 4 2400 kinetics on that same side and it definitely makes the boat list to that side. I can definitely see the wake affected, but now I just don't fill the left side tank as much as the right.

Anthony your boat looks like it sits even in he water, where do you have you batteries at.

echo_parker 06-03-2008 1:54 PM

I had the system designed from the ground up as far as weight. I have all the batteries in the back hatch behind the driver (roughly 280lbs.) I weigh about 200lbs. 2 amps are above the 15" L7 on a metal rack. roughly 150lbs.
I have 300lbs. of wire running down the port side of the boat to the batteries. 5 of the amps and 8" subs on the port side balance the boat.

There is roughly 800 plus lbs. of stereo equipment.

I plan on buying lead to spread around if I need it. Overall the boat sits pretty level.

grant_west 06-03-2008 2:03 PM

Nice system, How do you or did you get around the subs canceling each other out. Everytime I see or hear a system with sub's fireing into each other like you have there has been a problem with one sub's sound wave knocking out the other. What did you do to get around this problem. I know all boats are diffent and you might not even have had this problem?

wake1823 06-03-2008 2:14 PM

would 8's even cancle out a 15...they should be playing at differnet frequencies. A little overlap , but not much, I could understand some cancelattion with the same speakers.

zleartsu 06-03-2008 3:06 PM

Cool, i figured you had it all under control! Hope no one messes with that! and man thats alot of wires!

showmedonttellme 06-03-2008 3:18 PM

300 POUNDS of wire. My God!!!!

hatepain 06-03-2008 3:54 PM

WOW!!! Thats really impressive from the boat to the system you through in her. Congrats and enjoy.

What's the story with Kicker and you being obligated to them?

05mobiuslsv 06-03-2008 3:55 PM

Keep the methheads away from your boat they'll be robbing it for the wire.

grant_west 06-03-2008 4:47 PM

Yea I was curious about the 300 Pounds of wire also.LOL Jarrod Im guessing its a Typo

liljohn 06-03-2008 7:22 PM

wow.. all I can say is wow. Very nice work. you need my bracket for the eq to finish it off.

andrewjet 06-04-2008 7:01 AM

Yeah but That baby cant sleep now. Ha ha ha! Jet

echo_parker 06-04-2008 8:49 AM

It's not a typo 300lbs. of wire.

They used 6 spools of Kicker wire, each spool was over 45 lbs.

As far as subs canceling each other out, I have not noticed.

makai_surfer 06-04-2008 5:22 PM

Wow..Wow..Wow...

Good choice on the Wetsounds! I love mine.

While I am a true MC fan, that is one beautiful Bu!

echo_parker 06-04-2008 5:24 PM

Thank You, I appreciate it.

grant_west 06-04-2008 6:19 PM

300 LBS of wire LOL
Did they charge you by the Spool?

echo_parker 06-04-2008 6:25 PM

Why is that hard to believe?

Ben Kerran 06-04-2008 6:58 PM

There is no way there is anywhere near 300 lbs of wire in that boat. That is a nice set up however. I would have the same questions about subs canceling. Are there more 8" subs directly across from the ones in picture #2? or are all of them on the passenger side?

seaswirlmike 06-04-2008 9:23 PM

I'm not saying its not true either just hard to believe there could possibly be 300lbs. think about going to the gym or something of equivalent weight. that's equal to more then six 45lb plates on the bar or how about if they were jl 13w7's at 52lbs a piece that's about the weight of SIX in wire..... once again not saying its impossible just unlikely. on a side note everything else looks really bad a$$. you have a nice set up. I've seen a few of the 247's out lately with some massive stere set ups. lots of room to work with

sydwayz 06-04-2008 10:40 PM

50' coil of 1/0 power wire 24lbs each.

grant_west 06-05-2008 1:13 PM

Ok Ill try to do the math this should be pretty funny.
Let's just say his whole boat is wired with 0-AGW wire. The thickest heavyest wire. That would be 650 feet of O-AGW. If you use Sydways # of 24 pounds per spool. Thats 13 spools @ 50 foot per spool. That's a run of wire 28 times longer than your boat or 1.23 of a mile long

Anthony: Are you still sure you have 300 pounds of wire for your stereo?

jason_b 06-05-2008 1:46 PM

Not sure what you do for a living but is your company hiring? Wow. I need to work there....can ya grab me an app.?

echo_parker 06-05-2008 2:57 PM

"G" you got me, sh%t I give up .....your great math skills have really cornered me. I was really hoping that you would of been impressed with 300lbs. of wire so maybe you would be my friend.
Get over it Pal, whether it is 100 or 200 or 300lbs. who cares. I don't understand guys like you that feel you need to prove someone wrong.
Why could'nt you be ok with the fact that someone has something nice.
All I know is 6 spools of 0-AWG cobalt blue power AND ground were used.
What it all comes down too is Who Cares?
Move on.

grant_west 06-05-2008 3:55 PM

Chill brother, Its all good. Congrats to you and your new system and all it's 300 Lbs of wire. LOL
I think you have a real sweet system and I wasent trying to rain on your paraide. Or be one of the Jerks you were talking about. I just thought you messed up on a Zero or somthing and I was having fun with ya and the number's so like you said I guess it dosen't matter, And it dosent matter that you don't know what your talking about and I do another Joke so go easy! But serious. Who cares 30 or 300 Lbs no big deal I still think your boat is cool and you have a nice system. Hell if it pounds I will go ahead and try adding some extra wire to my system god know's I need the extra weight.
Sorry if I came off like I was picking on you.
G"

phx07enzo 06-05-2008 4:18 PM

Anthony,

I'm headed to Havasu this weekend!!! Any chance you'll be out there? I'd love to take a look at your ride, That thing is the Shizzz man!! look for me here's my baby

dmexia14 06-05-2008 10:43 PM
