i just caught a toeside edge coming off a frontroll to the flats and it ripped my foot out of the binding.. once i gathered my thoughts i realized the lining of my right binding was still on my feet. i was a little upset that it finally broke but i figured i could shove them back in the shell and at least finish the set.. as the board floated to the surface i couldnt believe my eyes... the whole top of the binding had ripped off.

Wow... You must have got slammed pretty hard. Either that or your bindings were completely shot.

Whoa man, Ive never seen anything like that. If you took off the base plate, your boot would look like some Nike Air Forces

adam van dyke will likely post something about this... he did something very similar with his 08 shanes, completely ripped the guts of it out... didn't rip it in half though. that takes some talent. good job, lol.

No. Was the binding already beginning to tear prior to this? If not, that must have been a hell of a hit.

Good news is you have a sweet new pair of kicks.

hyperlite 08-10-2010 4:08 AM

Yep....shane does it all the time. First time i saw it was at mccormicks cable. Welcome to lf lol

Low top bindings.

You maybe on to something here.

Yo Justin what's up? At least it was the boot that ripped apart instead of a ligament like me. Good shredding yesterday even though the water turned to crap. I knew that would happen that's why I told you to ride first but oh well it was fun chillin anyways. Let me know next time your on the river.

lfadam 08-10-2010 9:58 AM

yea if i knew how to post pics on wakeworld i would post a pic of my 08 shanes. As Nick said, I did a similar thing but didnt rip the overlays. Tore the front of the inner liner (over my toes) and the whole rest of the inner boot got ripped out like yours. I was very bummed. Loved those bindings

better question, why is your left binding all the way out and your right binding 3 in?

I def are sh*t but it wasn't so bad that I would have expected that...

As far as binding location goes- both bindings are all the way out... The base plate on those bindings is smaller and won't reach.. The inside of the binding is all the way out on the 4th screw but the outside screw will only reach the second hole...

geez that's crazy, must have been some fall

ian_ashton 08-11-2010 5:03 AM

My Shanes surface is peeling off - like the color is fslling off the binding, but nothing like this! That's pretty intense.

Look like some sick sneakers right there.

Looks like a goofy wake skate shoe now... Looks like you could take it off and lace it up... LOL

I dont have shanes but that happened to my PB Floyds. I sent them to SS and they sent me a new pair. Mine was on a TS BS 270 instead of a 3. Felt great.
