Im looking to make short, simple video but i am clueless on how to get started. Once the clips are filmed and on the computer, whats the next step? Any recommendations on a certain program to use? music? Any tips? I have taken some computer graphics classes but they covered no multi media stuff, any help is appreciated.

if you're on a pc and running windows xp, the absolute easiest way to get started is using windows movie maker. you can get more info about it by clicking <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/default.mspx" target=_top>here</a>. <BR> <BR>otherwise, you can get adobe premiere elements for $99 (i think). you can get more info about it by clicking <a href="http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/" target=_top>here</a>. <BR> <BR>if you're on a mac, use imovie or final cut pro. that's about all i know with mac.

Joes right. <BR> <BR>Also, if you are going to post your vids on the web (wakepics or something) try to keep your vid to under 3:30 to keep the size of the file down. so songs of that length should be your choice. Type of music is your choice -your vision. <BR> <BR>Good luck.

its expensive ($900) but adobe premier pro is the best program i have ever used. I recomend any adobe product

Sony Vegas is pretty nice and also about $99.

if your using apple..you can use iMovie but i prefer Final Cut Express..which is much cheaper than Final Cut Pro

I use Premeire Elements for my home movies and I really like it. I also know Final Cut Pro but you don't need anything nearly that powerful for home-made movies. If you get Premiere Elements, though, you may want to get the book "Premiere Elements for Dummies", because the manual that comes with the program doesn't tell you crap about how to use it. If you don't want to pay $99 for a program, Windows Movie Maker 2 is a great free one that you can download on Microsoft's website and it's super easy to use, like Joe said. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by murrayair on September 27, 2006)
