I just got a truck camper and I'm <BR>looking for good spots to go camping here are the <BR>pre-requisites: <BR> <BR>-Clean campgrounds with electrical hook ups <BR> (my wife is pregnant and may not go out on <BR> boat all the time)Forests would be nice. <BR> <BR>-Close to GREAT water (it's elusive in So-cal). <BR> <BR>-Easy to reach. from Southern California <BR> <BR>Thanks for the input

Buena Vista, which is in (near) Bakersfield has some of the best campgrounds. the water is usually good in the early AM, but the sites their rock. just need to get really lucky to get a waterfront site there.

just go up to shasta, don't even mess with socal lakes, there green!

Mike, I'm planning a road trip and the two lakes that come up all the time that are local for us is Naciemento and San Antonio.

I'm Nocal, but I think Naciemento is awesome. Anywhere on the Parker strip on the weekdays rocks, party hard on the weekend. Parker has a casino with nice docks, so something to do if the wind kicks up. It has nice RV parks with full hook ups. Camping in tents, if you don't mind RV pads to set up. <BR> Shasta is great also, lakehead has a couple nice RV spots, and some nice camps also. <BR> My fav is Stoneyford. No campgrounds, no launches. Just set up camp on the beach and party. Make sure you have a good launch vehicle, because there are no launches, you launch on the shore line. Kinda small, but the wind doesn't seem to get to it as it sits between hills. Weekends are very skiable, compared to my home (delta)
